Not every successful architect follows the path people expect.
Before becoming a specialist in architectural lighting design, Ar. Nikki Escalona-Tayag questioned whether she was talented enough to succeed in architecture at all. Surrounded by classmates whose work seemed far ahead of her own, she faced the same doubts many students and young professionals experience.
Instead of trying to be like everyone else, she chose a different approach: finding a niche where her strengths could create value.
In this personal reflection, Ar. Nikki shares how self-doubt, curiosity, and persistence led her from architecture school to New York and ultimately to building a specialized practice in a field that was once largely unfamiliar in the Philippines.
Her story is a reminder that success is not always about following the traditional path. Sometimes it begins with recognizing what makes you different.

Artificial intelligence is changing how students learn and how businesses operate. The question is no longer whether students should use AI.
The more important question is whether they can think critically about the answers it provides.
In her latest article, Aileen Nanca, MBA, Program head for Business Administration explores why judgment, ethical reasoning, and critical thinking remain among the most valuable skills business students can develop in an AI-driven world.
As technology becomes more capable of generating information, education must focus on helping students question assumptions, evaluate risks, defend decisions, and make sense of complex situations that have no easy answers.
Because while AI can generate answers, education teaches students what to do with them.

As a freshman Multimedia Arts student at Enderun Colleges, you are already building a body of work that reflects both talent and dedication. Seeing someone pursue her artistic vision with such authenticity and purpose is truly inspiring.
Wishing you continued success, creative growth, and many more milestones ahead. May LIKAS be the first of many albums that allow your voice and stories to reach even more people.
Congratulations, Isha. We’re proud to see you shine.
