📢 EARTHQUAKE DRILL AT FLORENTINO CATALAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Florentino Catalan Elementary School conducted a meaningful earthquake drill to prepare our learners, teachers, and staff for emergencies. 🚒🌍

Through the proper practice of Duck, Cover, and Hold, and following safe evacuation procedures, everyone learned how to stay calm and act quickly when disaster strikes. This activity reminds us that being prepared saves lives.

Special thanks to the teachers, parents, and everyone who supported this activity. Let’s continue teaching our children the value of safety and readiness! 💪

ADVISORY | Suspension of Face-to-Face Classes for Elementary and Secondary Schools, both Public and Private, in Tagum on June 9, 2026 (Tuesday)

Isip paghatag og dugang panahon alang sa mga estudyante, ingon man sa mga magtutudlo nga mas makapangandam alang sa pagbalik sa klase human sa nasinating pagtay-og kagahapon, Hunyo 8, suspendido usa karong adlawa ang Face-to-Face classes sa Elementary ug Secondary levels sa syudad sa Tagum.

Ang lokal nga panggamhanan sa Tagum, ubos sa pagdumala ni Mayor Rey T. Uy, nagalantaw alang sa kaayuhan sa mental well-being sa tanan ilabi na sa panahon sa kalamidad.

At Florentino Catalan Elementary School, we believe that quality education starts with a safe, organized, and well-prepared environment.

In line with this, checking school readiness, Regional Monitoring Team: Sir Alim Maguindanao and Ma'am Jeselyn B. Delacuesta and the Division Monitoring Team : Ma'am Ruth Ursolino, PSDS Daniel Tababa and Sir Christopher Gonzales conducted a comprehensive monitoring and assessment to ensure full readiness for the opening of classes and for any situation that may arise. We carefully inspected every corner of the campus to check the following:

✅ Facilities & Classrooms – Clean, well-ventilated, and functional learning spaces
✅ Safety & Security – Clear emergency exits, working fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and safety signs
✅ Disaster Preparedness – Reviewed response plans, designated safe zones, and readiness for drills
✅ Sanitation & Hygiene – Handwashing stations, clean water supply, and proper waste management
✅ Learning Materials – Available resources and organized teaching areas

This monitoring ensures that we leave nothing to chance. Even after what happened during our flag ceremony earlier, we continuously check and improve our systems to keep everyone safe. Our teachers and staff are also fully oriented and ready to guide our learners.
