A quote from the Teacher Education Program Head, Ms. Dinah L. Nival, LPT, MAEd, that deeply resonated with us. We often hear teaching described as a profession, but this reminder challenged us to look beyond the title and understand the true weight of our role as future educators.

On June 17, 2026, the Teacher Education Program conducted its orientation at the Mini Theatre. The program introduced students to the attributes of a teacher, highlighting the qualities and responsibilities expected of future educators. It also discussed the admission-retention policy, which outlines the standards students must meet to enter and remain in the program.

The orientation further acquainted participants with the Program Educational Outcomes (PEOs), the criteria for academic honors, the TEP Cumulative Grading System, and the relative weights of grade components. Discussions were also held on the Competency Enhancement Program (CEP), the Intensive Competency Enhancement Program (ICEP), and the Post-Curriculum Enhancement Program, providing students with a clearer understanding of the academic framework of the Teacher Education Program.

More than an introduction to policies and requirements, the orientation served as a reminder of the commitment, perseverance, and purpose needed to become effective educators. It left us reflecting on a deeper question: Are we prepared to cultivate the competence, dedication, and passion demanded by the teaching profession despite its challenges?

Moreover, please be guided that all 2nd Year and 4th Year students are encouraged to wear their New Polo Shirt, while 1st Year students are also encouraged to wear blue shirt or blouse.

Life was never easy—it was never meant to be easy. It will drive you through waves of emotions, bring you to both highs and lows, and challenge your will to persevere. Yet every obstacle you face becomes bearable, even laughable, when you have friends by your side. This is the significance of the momentous event held at the halls of the Mother Ignacia Gymnasium on June 10, 2026—the Pakighimamat 2026, an expression of SMCTI's love, reminding every Marian that they are not alone in this college journey.

That is why, in the morning, the institution's Vision, Mission, Goals, Key Directions, and the Quality Transformative Ignatian Marian Education were presented and explored to provide students with a deeper understanding of the school's aspirations and unwavering commitment to delivering quality education needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Furthermore, the Administrators, Faculty, and Staff who will accompany and guide the students throughout their academic journey were introduced, assuring them that they will be supported in every step they take toward becoming the person they are called to be.

In the afternoon, the various student services and organizations were introduced, allowing students to become familiar with the opportunities, programs, and support systems available to them. A campus tour was also conducted for the new and first-year students, helping them explore the school facilities to become acquainted with their new academic environment.

In other words, SMCTI, especially the entire Teacher Education family, is your friend who will walk with you and stand by your side—always.
