The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has formally approved and certified the conversion of Northwestern Mindanao State College of Science and Technology (NMSCST) into the 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐰𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨 (𝐔𝐍𝐌) Pursuant to Republic Act No. 11186.

This significant milestone marks a new chapter in the institution’s journey, reinforcing its commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and meaningful service to communities across Northwestern Mindanao.

𝗡𝗠𝗦𝗖𝗦𝗧 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝟯 𝗔𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘀 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀

Strengthening its position in research and innovation, NMSCST secured the 3rd spot among State Colleges in the Philippines based on the 2026 Scopus Outputs Ranking released by Global Health Focus (GHF) on May 19, 2026. The recognition highlights the institution’s growing contribution to research productivity, scholarly engagement, and academic excellence.

With a total of 𝟰𝟬 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗽𝘂𝘀-𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘀 from 2022 to 2026, including 𝟲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 recorded in 2026 alone, the institution continues to strengthen its presence in the national and international research landscape. This milestone reflects the dedication and collaborative efforts of faculty researchers, academic officials, staff, students, and partner stakeholders in advancing impactful and evidence-based research initiatives.

The achievement further underscores NMSCST’s commitment to producing relevant and innovative studies that contribute to knowledge generation, sustainable development, and community empowerment.
