Villaba Elementary School successfully participated in the 2nd Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) held on June 18, 2026, at 9:00 A.M., demonstrating the school's commitment to disaster preparedness and the safety of its learners and personnel.
The activity began with the sounding of the earthquake alarm, prompting learners, teachers, and school staff to immediately perform the proper โDuck, Cover, and Holdโ procedure. After the simulated shaking stopped, participants calmly and orderly evacuated to the designated safe assembly areas under the guidance of their teachers and disaster response coordinator.
The drill aimed to strengthen awareness and readiness in the event of an actual earthquake by reinforcing proper emergency response protocols and evacuation procedures. It also highlighted the importance of teamwork, discipline, and presence of mind during emergencies.

Villaba Elementary School officially commenced the first session of its Gender and Development (GAD) Training with the participation of both teaching and non-teaching personnel. The activity aimed to strengthen the capacity of school personnel through professional learning, collaboration, and the sharing of innovative educational practices.

๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ ๐พ. ๐ผ๐๐๐ฅ๐ค, School Head of Tangub City National High School, as the resource speaker. He shared his research entitled โProject ENSYS (Enrollment System): Fast-Tracking of Studentsโ Records and Classroom Attendance in Tangub City National High School.โ
During his presentation, Sir Abapo discussed the development and implementation of Project ENSYS, an innovative system designed to improve the management of student records and classroom attendance. He highlighted how research-based interventions and digital solutions can help schools enhance efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery.
The participants gained valuable insights into the research process, data management, and the practical applications of technology in school administration. The discussion also encouraged school personnel to explore innovative approaches that can contribute to the continuous improvement of educational services.
The successful conduct of the first session marked a meaningful start to Villaba Elementary Schoolโs GAD Training program. Through activities such as this, the school continues to promote professional growth, gender-responsive practices, and a culture of innovation among its personnel.

Villaba Elementary School successfully conducted its Parentsโ Orientation on June 11, 2026, at the Villaba ES Multipurpose Hall, bringing together parents and guardians to discuss important school policies, programs, and expectations for the new school year.
The orientation began with a presentation on the School Calendar and the implementation of the Three-Term School Calendar, which was discussed by ๐๐โ๐๐ข ๐๐ฎ๐ก๐ ๐ฝ. ๐๐๐๐ง๐๐๐ค. Parents were oriented on the significant changes in the academic schedule and key dates to ensure their active participation throughout the school year.
Meanwhile, ๐๐โ๐๐ข ๐๐๐ก๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐. ๐๐๐๐-๐๐ฃ discussed the Class Program and the Classroom Assessment and Grading System, providing parents with a clear understanding of class routines, learner evaluation, and academic expectations.
The remaining agenda were presented by School Head๐๐๐ง ๐๐๐ก๐ฅ๐ ๐๐๐ฎ ๐. ๐๐ช๐ก๐ฉ๐๐ฃ, who discussed the School Rules and Policies, Student Health and Safety Protocols, Learning Modalities and Flexible Learning, Parent Responsibilities, and the various School Programs and Services available to learners. As part of the Opening Block Activities for School Year 2026โ2027, Villaba Elementary School successfully administered the Comprehensive Rapid Literacy Assessment (CRLA) to Key Stage 1 learners (Grades 1 to 3).
The assessment aimed to evaluate the foundational literacy skills of pupils and gather baseline data that will guide teachers in planning effective reading and language interventions throughout the school year.
The CRLA serves as an essential assessment tool in determining learnersโ proficiency in key literacy domains, including letter recognition, phonological awareness, word reading, oral reading fluency, and reading comprehension.
Through this assessment, teachers were able to identify learnersโ strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring that appropriate support and intervention strategies are provided early in the school year.

In support of the Department of Educationโs thrust to strengthen foundational numeracy skills among learners, Villaba Elementary School conducted the Rapid Mathematics Assessment (RMA) for all pupils from Grade 1 to Grade 6 as part of the Opening Block Activities for School Year 2026โ2027.
The assessment aimed to determine learnersโ current numeracy levels and provide baseline data that will guide teachers in delivering appropriate instructional support and intervention programs in Mathematics.
The RMA serves as a diagnostic assessment tool designed to measure learnersโ mathematical understanding, computational skills, and mastery of essential numeracy competencies.
Through the assessment, teachers were able to identify learnersโ strengths and areas that require further support, ensuring that instructional strategies are responsive to the diverse learning needs of pupils.

As part of the Opening Block Activities for School Year 2026โ2027, Villaba Elementary School conducted the Philippine Informal Reading Inventory (PHIL-IRI) Group Screening Test to assess the reading proficiency of learners and gather baseline data for the school's reading intervention programs.
The PHIL-IRI Group Screening Test serves as the initial step in identifying learners' reading abilities. Through this assessment, teachers were able to determine which pupils may need further evaluation and targeted reading support.
The activity was administered simultaneously to groups of learners, allowing for an efficient and systematic assessment process.

Villaba Elementary School proudly joined the nationwide celebration of the 128th Anniversary of National Flag Day and Philippine Independence Day through a meaningful Flag-Making Activity participated in by learners and teachers during the Opening Block activities for School Year 2026โ2027.
The activity was conducted in response to the Division Memorandum encouraging schools to promote patriotism and deepen learnersโ appreciation of the nationโs history, heroes, and democratic values.
The flag-making activity aimed to strengthen the learnersโ understanding of the significance of the Philippine flag as the symbol of the country's sovereignty, freedom, and unity.
Guided by their teachers, learners creatively crafted Philippine flags while learning about the meaning of its colors, stars, and sun, as well as the sacrifices of Filipino heroes who fought for the nation's independence.
The activity also served as an avenue for integrating history, arts, and values education, making learning engaging and meaningful for the pupils. Through their participation, learners expressed pride in being Filipinos and demonstrated respect for the country's national symbols.
As the nation commemorates Philippine Independence Day on June 12, Villaba Elementary School remains committed to nurturing patriotism, nationalism, and civic responsibility among its learners through educational activities that honor the country's rich history and enduring legacy of freedom.
