As part of the Opening Block Activities for School Year 2026โ€“2027, Villaba Elementary School successfully administered the Comprehensive Rapid Literacy Assessment (CRLA) to Key Stage 1 learners (Grades 1 to 3).

The assessment aimed to evaluate the foundational literacy skills of pupils and gather baseline data that will guide teachers in planning effective reading and language interventions throughout the school year.

The CRLA serves as an essential assessment tool in determining learnersโ€™ proficiency in key literacy domains, including letter recognition, phonological awareness, word reading, oral reading fluency, and reading comprehension.

Through this assessment, teachers were able to identify learnersโ€™ strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring that appropriate support and intervention strategies are provided early in the school year.
