The goal isn't to do everything for our children. The goal is to teach them how to do it for themselves.
In our desire to help, protect, and make life easier, we can sometimes unintentionally rob our children of the opportunity to learn the very skills that build confidence, resilience, and independence. We keep them infantile. Whether it's riding a bike and pushing down on those pedals, brushing their teeth, tying their shoes, wiping their own bottom, using a knife and fork properly, washing their own hair and brushing it, cleaning up their stuff, or simply helping around the home in general, life skills aren't optional extras, they are essential building blocks for adulthood.
Children don't become capable by watching us do everything for them, including paying for their choices they screw up as young adults. They become capable by being taught, encouraged, allowed to practice, make mistakes, learn and try again. Every new skill mastered sends a powerful message: "I can actually do this."

We are not raising children to stay dependent on us. We are raising future adults... So
teach the skill...crave out the time, Step back. Don't step because you can't handle it, be stronger, let them grow, and have room to get it right.

At LCBA Play School, we believe the first years matter most. Through stories, songs, crafts, and prayer, we help little ones build confidence, curiosity, and character — all in a Christ-centered space.

Before they learn to write, they learn to play! ✨
These fun pre-writing activities help strengthen little fingers and build the foundation for writing skills. From tracing lines to playing with shapes, every little movement matters.

Pre-writing is all about improving grip, control, coordination, and confidence—without any pressure. Because learning is always better when it feels like play‼️ ✏️💛

Dear Lord, watch over our Play School children. As they learn letters, numbers, and new friendships, fill them with joy. Keep them safe, healthy, and eager to discover the world You made. Asking you Father God, give parents peace as they leave their little ones in our care. Let every goodbye at the gate turn into a big hug and “I had fun‼️” story after school. Bless this new chapter. Also, grant our Play School teachers extra patience, energy, and wisdom today. Let their classrooms be places of laughter, kindness, and growth. These we pray in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, amen, amen, & amen, hallelujah ‼️ 🙏 😇 💞 🫂
