In a resolute stride toward educational transformation and instructional excellence, the Schools Division Office of Tarlac Province successfully conducted the Division Training of Teachers on the Revised Grades 6, 9, and 10 Curriculum across various school venues within the province. The training was held in two successive waves: May 27โ€“30, 2026 for Grade 6 teachers, and June 02โ€“05, 2026 for Grades 9 and 10 teachers.

This significant undertaking represents the culminating division-level rollout of the MATATAG Curriculum, designed to ensure that teachers are fully capacitated to deliver the Revised K to 10 Curriculum with clarity, coherence, and pedagogical precision. In alignment with national directives, the training forms part of the final phase of implementation, emphasizing the crucial role of teachers in bringing curriculum reforms into meaningful classroom practice.

The training was anchored on clearly defined objectives drawn from national policy guidelines. Foremost, it sought to develop among teachers a deep and unified understanding of the revised curriculumโ€™s content, standards, and overarching intent. It further aimed to strengthen teachersโ€™ competencies in content knowledge and pedagogy, enabling them to employ responsive, inclusive, and learner-centered instructional approaches.

Additionally, the program emphasized the enhancement of teachersโ€™ skills in curriculum planning, lesson development, and contextualization of instructional materials. Equally important, it endeavored to improve assessment literacy by guiding teachers in designing and implementing effective assessment strategies aligned with learning competencies. Ultimately, the training aspired to cultivate reflective practitioners capable of delivering quality instruction and fostering higher-order thinking skills among learners

The Schools Division Office extends its sincerest and most profound appreciation to the Division Resource Persons, Division Chief Education Supervisors, Education Program Supervisors, Process Observers, Class Managers, M&E Officers, members of the Division Program Management Team and Technical Working Group whose collective expertise and steadfast commitment ensured the seamless ex*****on of this final phase of training. Their dedication to excellence, manifested through meticulous planning, dynamic facilitation, and diligent monitoring, has been instrumental in achieving the objectives of the program. Their invaluable contributions have not only elevated the quality of the training but have also reinforced the divisionโ€™s shared mission of empowering educators through sustained professional development.

Equally deserving of commendation are the host schools, namely, Capas National High School, Corazon C. Aquino High School, Jose V. Yap National High School, and Tarlac National High School whose generosity, logistical support, and warm hospitality significantly contributed to the success of the two-week training engagement.

With the successful completion of this division-level training, all phases of the MATATAG Curriculum rollout from national to regional and ultimately to the schools division, we have now reached their intended culmination. This milestone marks a pivotal transition from policy formulation to practical application, where educators at the grassroots are now fully equipped to translate the principles of the revised curriculum into effective teaching practices. As teachers return to their respective classrooms, they carry with them renewed competence, confidence, and commitment to nurturing learners who are resilient, future-ready, and holistically developed. Indeed, the realization of the MATATAG Curriculum now rests in the capable hands of these empowered educators, who stand at the forefront of shaping the nationโ€™s educational future

In steadfast pursuit of elevating the standards of school leadership across the country, the Department of Education (DepEd), through the Office of the Undersecretary for Human Resource and Organizational Development, successfully advanced the implementation of the Fiscal Year 2025 National Assessment for School Heads (NASH) โ€“ Batch 2, following a series of strategic adjustments to its timeline and preparatory mechanisms.

Originally slated earlier in the year, the conduct of the NASH Batch 2 underwent recalibration to ensure comprehensive readiness among participating regions and divisions. As stipulated in Memorandum DM-OUHROD-2025-3318, the assessment was initially scheduled for March 29, 2026, with a prior mock assessment intended to acclimatize examinees to the system and procedures. However, recognizing the operational demands and end-of-school-year (EOSY) responsibilities faced by educators, further rescheduling was instituted.

Through Memorandum DM-OUHRODI-2026-0789 dated March 16, 2026, DepEd formally announced the revised schedule, moving the mock assessment to May 10, 2026 and the actual assessment to May 17, 2026. This decisive adjustment was made to afford examinees sufficient time to finalize preparations and to enable field offices to optimize logistical and administrative arrangements.

Complementing these modifications, an earlier advisory issued on December 19, 2025 extended critical preparatory timelines, including registration, online application, and document validation processes, in response to technical challenges encountered by applicants during the initial application phase. Such responsive governance underscores the Departmentโ€™s commitment to inclusivity, accessibility, and procedural integrity.

At the local level, the Schools Division of Tarlac demonstrated exemplary coordination and operational efficiency in carrying out the national directive. Notably, clusters of NASH takers from Tarlac convened at Corazon C. Aquino High School in Gerona, Tarlac, where both the mock assessment conducted on May 10, 2026, and the actual assessment administered on May 17, 2026 were successfully held. The site served as a centralized venue, equipped to meet the prescribed standards for assessment administration, including technical readiness, secure environment, and adherence to standardized protocols.

The conduct of the mock assessment proved instrumental in ensuring a seamless testing experience, affording participants the opportunity to validate device compatibility, familiarize themselves with the Learning Management System (LMS), and resolve potential technical concerns ahead of the actual examination. Meanwhile, the culminating assessment on May 17 exemplified disciplined ex*****on, with participants demonstrating readiness in both competence and professionalism.

The NASH remains a cornerstone initiative of the Department, designed to rigorously evaluate the competencies of aspiring and incumbent school leaders, particularly those seeking qualification for School Principal I positions. It encompasses a comprehensive framework that assesses instructional leadership, school management, and governance capabilitiesโ€”critical domains in fostering effective and transformative educational leadership.

Furthermore, the collaborative efforts of regional offices, Schools Division Offices, and institutional partners were pivotal in ensuring the credibility and orderly conduct of the assessment. The establishment of assessment sites, mobilization of technical working groups, and consistent communication channels all contributed to the smooth implementation of NASH Batch 2.

As the Tarlac participants conclude this significant professional milestone, their engagement reflects not only individual aspirations but also a collective commitment to advancing educational excellence. The experience gained from both the mock and actual assessments positions them advantageously in their journey toward leadership roles within the Department.

Ultimately, the successful administration of the FY 2025 NASH Batch 2 in Tarlac stands as a testament to DepEdโ€™s unwavering dedication to capacity-building, adaptability in the face of evolving challenges, and the continuous pursuit of quality education through empowered school leadership.

As the assessment phase formally concludes, participants now enter a period of hopeful anticipation as they await the official release of results. In line with established DepEd processes, the outcomes of the FY 2025 NASH Batch 2 are expected to be issued through an official memorandum and disseminated via authorized communication platforms upon completion of the necessary validation and evaluation procedures. The Tarlac examinees, who demonstrated commendable diligence and professionalism throughout both the mock and actual assessments at Corazon C. Aquino High School, now stand poised at the threshold of opportunity awaiting a milestone that may usher them into the ranks of future educational leaders.
