On March 17, 2026, the 𝙆𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙮𝙤𝙣 𝙨𝙖 𝙒𝙞𝙠𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙤 (𝙆𝙒𝙁), led by 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐀. 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐬-𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧, visited Cagayan State University (CSU) at the Claude Andrews Convention Center for a landmark book turnover and partnership initiative. Welcomed by the 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐃), 𝐃𝐫. 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐂. 𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐬, along with the 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐑𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐨 𝐏. 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐭, and the dedicated 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐃, the gathering focused on the formal turnover of a curated collection of essential linguistic and literary texts to be rendered into the university's permanent library collection. This donation includes the authoritative 𝘒𝘞𝘍 𝘋𝘪𝘬𝘴𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘳𝘺𝘰 𝘯𝘨 𝘞𝘪𝘬𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘍𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘰, the Filipino translation of the global classic 𝘋𝘪𝘨𝘮𝘢𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘵 𝘒𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘢𝘯, and the highly relevant 𝘒𝘞𝘍 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘸𝘢𝘭 𝘪𝘵𝘪 𝘕𝘢𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘶𝘴 𝘢 𝘗𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘵𝘪 𝘐𝘭𝘰𝘬𝘢𝘯𝘰, a vital resource for the regional orthography of Northern Luzon. Additionally, the donation featured specialized educational modules known as 𝘒𝘞𝘍 𝘐𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘴: 𝘈𝘭𝘱𝘢𝘣𝘦 𝘛𝘶𝘬𝘭𝘢𝘴 𝘢𝘵 𝘚𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵-𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘯, designed to enhance the pedagogical approach to the Filipino alphabet and interactive language learning.

These volumes, now part of the university’s permanent collection, serve as the foundation for an upcoming Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between KWF and CSU. Spearheaded by CTED and supported by the University Library, this partnership aims to institutionalize linguistic excellence and mother-tongue advocacy. By integrating these authoritative resources, CSU reinforces its mission to equip future educators and researchers with precise tools for Filipino and Ilokano language development, marking a new chapter of shared academic and cultural goals.
