ππ‘π„π€πŠπˆππ† 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | ValTech Main Campus successfully conducted an earthquake drill today, June 18, 2026, at 9:00 AM, spearheaded by the NSTP Department. Students, faculty, and staff participated in the activity to strengthen disaster preparedness and promote safety awareness in the event of an earthquake.
During the drill, participants practiced the essential β€œDrop, Cover, and Hold On” procedureβ€”dropping to the ground, taking cover under sturdy furniture, and holding on until the shaking stops. The exercise aimed to develop quick and appropriate responses during emergencies, ensuring that the ValTech community remains prepared and resilient in times of disaster.

𝐈𝐍 ππ‡πŽπ“πŽπ’ | The Professional Education Department successfully conducted its 4th-year implementation of the Seminar-Workshop on Professional Development and Curriculum Instruction for Pre-Service Teachers from April 23 to May 18, 2026.

The program was spearheaded by Ms. Virgie Lyn A. Ranay, MAEd, Professional Education Coordinator, in collaboration with the dedicated Field Study and Practice Teaching Instructors. This initiative aimed to strengthen the pedagogical knowledge, instructional competence, and professional readiness of future educators as they prepare for the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET).

The department was honored by the valuable insights shared by distinguished guest speakers: Dr. Mark Valdevieso, Mrs. Maria Patricia De Vera, Mrs. Marian N. Roque, Mr. Marlon L. Lalaguna, Ms. Ria Lorraine F. Lunaria, Mr. Gerald M. Llanes, and Mr. Jeric Ambrad of CBRC Karuhatan. Their expertise enriched the participants' understanding of curriculum literacy, inclusive education, technology integration, assessment practices, and professional excellence.

The program was further strengthened by the commitment of the department's in-house review lecturers, namely: Engr. Florino Oiga, Mrs. Marivic E. Espaldon, LPT; Ms. Mary Grace Magana, LPT; Ms. Rachel CaΓ±ete, LPT; Mr. John Kenneth C. Goyal, MAEd; Ms. Danica Ellaiza Endita, LPT; Ms. Jeny M. Tuazon, MAEd; Mrs. Joanna Marie C. Laurel, MAEd; Mr. Rommel Dubas, LPT; and Ms. Clarice Sara, LPT, who generously shared their knowledge and expertise in their respective fields.

Through this collective effort, the department hopes to contribute positively to the academic and professional success of future LET takers, equipping them with the competencies and confidence needed to become effective and transformative educators. Youth-focused skills and employment initiative rolled out in Manila, Valenzuela 12/06/2026

"Uniqlo Philippines, in partnership with Plan International Pilipinas, implemented the Youth Rise program to provide youth, particularly young women, with access to skills development, employability support and entrepreneurship opportunities."

As a starting point, the program will be initially implemented in Valenzuela and Manila.

Seco said the community in Valenzuela was chosen as a partner community due to the needs of youth in the area.

β€œValenzuela is part of another area where there [are] a lot of vulnerable families, young people. At base rin sa pag-aaral natin, maraming mga members ng youth ang nangangailangan ng trabaho. They also have to pick up that kind of skill,” the program director said."

IN PHOTOS: Plan International Pilipinas, in partnership with UNIQLO Philippines, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and the Barangay Malanday Council, held the media launch of the Peace For All: Youth RISE Project, June 3, 2026, at Valenzuela Technological College.

Youth RISE is the first local initiative focused on empowering marginalized youth ages 18 to 30 by providing them with skills and opportunities. The three-year program, led by Plan International Pilipinas in partnership with UNIQLO PEACE FOR ALL, aims to strengthen youth resilience, entrepreneurship, and employability with Valenzuela and Manila City serving as the pilot areas for implementation.

The project targets 600 learners from selected marginalized communities by providing technical skills training tailored to their interests and aligned with labor market demands, based on market assessments. Additionally, 2,500 young people will be equipped with essential life skills and green skills. Through this initiative, participants will gain access to opportunities that support their personal growth, economic empowerment, and long-term career development.
