Today, the nation commemorates the 157th Birth Anniversary of Emilio Aguinaldo, President of the First Philippine Republic.

Aguinaldo stands as one of the key figures who steered the nation toward independence and self-governance. As a revolutionary, politician, and military leader, he led Filipino forces against Spanish rule in the final phase of the Philippine Revolution, and later against American forces during the Philippine-American War.

A year before his passing, he generously donated his ancestral home in Kawit, along with part of its grounds, to the Philippine government—ensuring that this historic site would continue to inspire future generations.

Nakikiisa ang Bignay National High School at AP Club sa paggunita ng ika-129 anibersaryo ng pagkamartir ni Dr. Jose Rizal, ang ating pambansang bayani na nagsilbing ilaw ng katalinuhan, tapang, at pagmamahal sa bayan.

Ang kanyang mga aral at sakripisyo ay patuloy na nagbibigay-inspirasyon sa bawat Pilipino—lalo na sa kabataang may mahalagang papel sa paghubog ng kinabukasan ng ating bansa. Nawa’y magsilbi itong paalala na ang tunay na pagbabago ay nagsisimula sa kaalaman, malasakit, at pagkakaisa.

Nakikiisa ang Bignay National High School sa pagdiriwang ng National Volunteerism Month 💙

The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) will celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of revolutionary leader Emilio Jacinto on Monday, 15 December 2025, 8:00 am, at various sites in the country.

Wreaths will be offered at his tomb at Himlayang Pilipino, Quezon City by the NHCP, Senator Loren Legarda, National Youth Commission Chairperson Joseph Francisco Ortega, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, National Artist Virgilio S. Almario, Vice President-Comptroller Rafael C. Hizon of Himlayang Pilipino, Inc., and Jacinto descendant Maria Melissa Galauran Lacerna-Dona. The program will also include a reading of Jacinto's Kartilya ng Katipunan by a student and an excerpt from the hit Tanghalang Pilipino musical, "Pingkian: Isang Musikal."

Wreaths will also be offered to Jacinto's monuments in the Bonifacio Shrine (Kartilya ng Katipunan Park) in Manila, Pinaglabanan Memorial Shrine in San Juan City, the Battle of Maimpis Site and the town plaza in Magdalena, Laguna, and his first burial place in Santa Cruz, Laguna.

Emilio Jacinto (15 December 1875 - 16 April 1899) was a leading intellectual and military leader during the Philippine Revolution. He was one of the highest-ranking leaders of the Kataas-taasang, Kagalang-galang na Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan or Katipunan and authored the organization's famous Kartilya. He has been popularly recognized as the "Brains of the Katipunan" in recognition of his significant contributions to its intellectual and political foundations. He also served in various battles and campaigns in the Philippine Revolution from 1896 to 1899.

The 150th birth anniversary of Emilio Jacinto is part of the 2025 Year of the Youth in Philippine History that is anchored on the sesquicentennials of Jacinto, Gregoria De Jesus, Gregorio Del Pilar, and other young revolutionaries who fought for our country’s independence from Spanish colonial rule.
