The CatSU College of Health Sciences celebrated a significant milestone as the capstone project conducted by CHS faculty members 𝙎𝙞𝙧 Anthony Tayam Emerenciana and 𝙎𝙞𝙧 Jeric Vargas Gianan was successfully validated by experts from the UP Manila College of Nursing through the NurseLead team.

Focused on innovation in public health nursing education, the project received valuable insights and constructive feedback from 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙛. 𝙅𝙤 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙨𝙤, 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙛. 𝙍𝙞𝙩𝙖 𝙏𝙖𝙢𝙨𝙚, and 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙛. 𝙋𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙂𝙡𝙤𝙧, helping further strengthen the initiative.

The College of Health Sciences (CHS) proudly celebrates the back-to-back international research achievements of its faculty, showcasing excellence in research and global engagement under the leadership of Dean 𝘿𝙧. 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙖 𝘼𝙡𝙢𝙖 𝙑. Tabirara.

𝘿𝙧. 𝙇𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙝 𝙄. 𝙏𝙪𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡 was awarded 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿 (Oral Presentation - 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗿𝘆) during the 𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 with the theme: "𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘗𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦: 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘎𝘭𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘭 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘞𝘦𝘭𝘭-𝘉𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨", held on April 7–8, 2026 in Legazpi City. Her work on transforming research into practice reflects her dedication to nursing research and academic excellence.

Likewise, 𝘿𝙧. 𝙅𝙤𝙝𝙣 𝙁. His research highlights impactful and community-centered scholarship that brings attention to the health realities of local abaca farmers..

The Catanduanes State University, College of Health Sciences students get the over-all champion award at the 1st Daluyong 2026 Youth Health Leaders’ Summit with the theme: “Shaping Tomorrow’s Health through Youth Empowerment.” held at Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, Nabua, Camarines Sur on March 29-31, 2026.

According to Daluyong 2026 official face book page, Daluyong 2026 is a program activity of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, College of Health Sciences Student Council. It is a three-day summit starting from March 29-31, 2026 which unites Filipino youth leaders in the medical field to strengthen alliance, leadership and continuous service in health. The summit aims to address health challenges facing the country today, highlighting the critical role of the youth as advocates and catalysts for change. It is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which aims to empower Filipino youth to provide initiation and develop sustainable solutions that respond to numerous health challenges. The participants will take part in seminars, workshops, team-building activities, nature encounters, community immersion, and friendly competitions that develop leadership and foster holistic well-being.

Participating schools are Catanduanes State University (CatSU), Naga College Foundation (NCF), University of Northeastern Philippines (UNEP) and Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC).

The contest proper was conducted in the second day afternoon of the event with the following competition game: Quiz Bowl Competition, Photography Contest, Poster Making Contest, Extemporaneous Speaking, Essay Writing Contest, Poster and Research Presentation.

The delegates ranked first in Quiz Bowl Competition, Photography, Poster Making, Extemporaneous Speaking and obtained 3rd place Essay Writing. Quiz Bowl Competition participated by team represented by Jian Khrl O. Usero, Ash Jayco T. Vargas and Christian Dave T. Alcantara, Photography Contest by Nicole Alexie E. Rodriguez, Poster Making by Silver G. De Quiroz, and Essay Writing by Ivy T. De la Cruz CHS.

The Catanduanes State University, College of Health Science community is very proud of this achievement and award. It will inspire other student to join the future health leader summit. Indeed CatSU, CHS is a haven of achievers.

Please be informed that the Midterm Examination is scheduled on March 18–20, 2026. In line with this, adjustments to the clinical duty schedule will be implemented:

Students with clinical duty from 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM will be dismissed at 11:00 AM.
Students with clinical duty from 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM, 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM will be dismissed and sent HOME at 7:00 PM

This is to allow you sufficient time to complete your related learning activities at home and prepare for your examinations.

Students who have scheduled classes after their clinical duty may proceed to school to attend their classes.

Please be guided accordingly. Thank you.
