📍International Faculty Mobility

Dr. Kristian Q. Aldea, Associate Professor of the College of Science and Director of Intellectual Property Rights Services of Catanduanes State University participated in an event dubbed as, "Training on Integrating Blue Carbon into the ICM Framework" held on March 25-27, 2025 in Chonburi, Thailand.

In his FB post, he shared that coastal ecosystems are valuable for providing diverse services, including provisioning, regulating, supporting, and cultural services. This highlights their profound role in ecological functions and human well-being.
Looking deeper into their roles in Carbon Sequestration provides further insights into their regulating services, supporting the foundation of coastal communities.

Here, “Blue Carbon Ecosystems” are emphasized with the integration of the ICM Framework.

The said program was organized by PEMSEA in partnership with Burapha University, Thailand, and the University of Hawaii.

Dr. Aldea met Dr. Brian Szuster, Dr. Keita Furukawa, and Dr. Milica Stankovic as shown in his photos.

The Campus and Colleges Coordinators of the Center for International Relations and Continuing Professional Development Services of Catanduanes State University together with the Director, came together to focus on their key goals and set clear targets for the CPD Accreditation of the university.
Present in this meeting are Coordinators of Panganiban Campus, College of Business and Accountancy, College of Engineering and Architecture, College of Health Sciences, College of Education, and College of Agriculture and Fisheries.
The team are set to submit their Three-Year Annual Plans for the various CPD Programs on April 21, 2025. Hence, the University hopes to get accredited this summer and be able to provide CPD-accredited programs in August.
