As we honor the achievements and contributions of CoEd Women's Club We are thrilled to introduce our project entitled ❝𝕀 𝔾𝕆𝕋 𝕐𝕆𝕌ℝ 𝔹𝔸ℂ𝕂 𝔾𝕌ℝ𝕃!❞ A CoEd Women's Club project on uplifting women especially in time's of necessary.

OUR GIRLS IN ACTION ✨

Here are the snaps of our outreach activity today: from going to houses of barangay-identified mothers, to preparing delicious food, and handing out gift packs, and some candid photos!

Today has truly been a fulfilling and memorable day!

"Hooray! It's laundry day!"

We could almost hear those words from the twenty-one mothers of Gogon Centro, Virac, when they received their laundry gifts today with all smiles. They also enjoyed the macaroni soup we prepared and came back for refills. Yayyy!

Because of that, we couldn't help but respond with a smile, feeling affirmed that we were able to help these incredible mothers.

And we are even more grateful to all our members - the women of the College of Education - for their participation and support through prompt remittance of their membership fees. Without them, we couldn't have proceeded with conducting this outreach activity.

And to you, the officers of COED WC, congratulations, girls! We did it. And we will do it again. 🤗

In line with our participation in the 18-Day Campaign to End VAW, here's our for today.

As defined by the UN Declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women (1993), VAW is "any act of gender-based violence that results in, or is likely to result in physical, sexual, or psychological harm or suffering to women, including threats of such acts, coercion, or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether occurring in public and private life. Gender-based violence is any violence inflicted on women because of their sex.”

According to Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004, VAW is “any act or a series of acts committed by any person against a woman who is his wife, former wife, or against a woman with whom the person has or had a sexual or dating relationship, or with whom he has a common child, or against her child whether legitimate or illegitimate, with or without the family abode, which result in or are likely to result in physical, sexual, psychological harm or suffering, or economic abuse, including threats of such acts, battery, assault, coercion, harassment or arbitrary deprivation of liberty.”

VAW includes, but is not limited to, the following acts:
• Physical violence or the act that includes bodily or physical harm
• Sexual violence or the act that is sexual in nature, committed against a woman or her child
• Psychological violence or the act or omission that causes or is likely to cause mental or emotional suffering of the victim
• Economic abuse or the act that makes or attempts to make a woman financially dependent

Today marks the third day of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women. At COED Women's Club, we believe in the power of unity and collective action. In solidarity with the global movement to end Violence Against Women (VAW), COED Women's Club joins the observance of the 2023 "18-Day Campaign to End VAW" in the Philippines.

COED Women's Club recognizes that violence not only violates women's rights but also poses a significant public health concern, impacting attitudes, potential, and community well-being.

As we join the 18-Day Campaign, anchored on Proclamation 1172 and Republic Act No. 10398, our focus aligns with the overarching theme for 2023: "UNITEd for a VAW-free Philippines."

Together, let's make a lasting impact and contribute to building a VAW-free Philippines. COED Women's Club is ready to UNITE for change. 🧡💜
