๐๐ฎ๐ฉ๐๐ซ ๐๐ฒ๐ฉ๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ง ๐๐ฐ๐๐ง has hit our island hard โ especially the coastal communities, where storm surge, strong wind, and flood destroyed homes, livelihoods, and shattered lives.
Families are displaced. Children are sleeping without roofs over their heads. Farmers watch helplessly as years of hard work are buried under floodwaters. Parents struggle to feed their families. Seniors and the sick face nights of fear, cold, and hunger.
Yet, even in the face of such devastation, the spirit of the Catandunganon people remains unbroken.

It is a call for kindness, a reminder that no one should face tragedy alone, and a movement that unites every Catandunganon heart โ near or far โ to bring relief, hope, and a chance to rebuild.
Your help, no matter how small, can make a real difference.
A single act of generosity โ a peso, a canned good, a blanket โ can ripple across the island, turning despair into strength, and tears into gratitude.

Declaring punctuality a non-negotiable pillar of professionalism and respect, the Bachelor of Arts in English Language (BAEL) program at Catanduanes State University (CatSU) officially launched its groundbreaking "BAEL's Time: Always On Time" initiative yesterday, August 13th. The kick-off occurred during the BAEL orientation program held at the CatSU Extension Services Training Hall, marking a significant shift towards actively cultivating timeliness as a defining characteristic of its student identity.
The initiative arises from a recognition that while the BAEL program equips students with critical analytical skills, advanced communication proficiency, and deep cultural understanding essential for careers in education, media, publishing, and beyond, academic excellence alone is insufficient. Chronic student lateness, identified as a persistent issue, disrupts learning, burdens peers and faculty, and fundamentally contradicts the professional ethos the program strives to instill.
The program detailed the tangible negative impacts of habitual lateness: fractured focus during lectures and presentations, implicit disrespect for the time of instructors and punctual peers, undermined professionalism, operational inefficiency, and unnecessary personal stress.
The initiative's justification emphasizes that being consistently on time is a clear indicator of proactivity, requiring foresight and planning. Furthermore, it positions punctuality as foundational to professional ethics โ demonstrating reliability, responsibility, accountability, and a strong work ethic. Crucially, it frames timeliness as a fundamental act of respect for the finite time of others โ professors, peers, and staff.
The "BAEL's Time: Always On Time" initiative positions CatSU's BAEL program at the forefront of embedding essential professional conduct within its academic framework, aiming to produce graduates distinguished not only by their linguistic and analytical prowess but also by their unwavering respect for time and commitment.

Last Tuesday, July 29 at 4:00 PM, the first meeting was held at CCH, headed by Joselle Upod. It was a meaningful start filled with shared visions, open discussions, and the excitement of new beginnings.
As we move forward, we carry with us not just plans but purpose. This is only the beginning of what we are about to bring together.

With hope and determination, 21 aspiring students took the BAEL qualifying exam, proctored by Ma'am Romeleen Go-Vela. Interviews followed, led by Ma'am Rome and Dean Jimmylen Tonio.
The Bachelor of Arts in the English Language, a growing family of passionate learners and mentors, stood ready to welcome them. Supporting the process were the Saussurean Society officers, led by newly elected president Joselle Upod, who ensured the day was smooth, meaningful, and encouraging.

Hey BAEL students!
The Scriptorium is looking for a ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ who can make our pubmats look less...cursed.
Specifically, someone who can make a pubmat that doesnโt look like it came from the medieval era.
Youโll be doing:
โ Digital art and pubmat design
โ Rescuing layouts from design disaster
โ Gently telling us โNoโ when we suggest glow text
โ Making things look cool without using six different fonts
You get:
โ Full credit
โ Creative freedom (within reason, please)
โ Maybe snacks
โ The right to roast our old pubmats and be applauded for it
No resume. No cover letter.
Just send us your samples. If itโs good, weโll probably cry (in a good way).
๐ฉ DM us before we accidentally invent a new dark age of design.
