Human Excretory System
The human excretory system removes metabolic waste products from the body to maintain homeostasis. It involves several organs working together:
Key Organs & their roles:
Kidneys – Main organs; filter blood to produce urine, removing urea, excess salts, and water.
Ureters – Tubes that carry urine from kidneys to the bladder.
Urinary Bladder – Stores urine until it is expelled.
Urethra – Expels urine out of the body.
Other organs involved:
Lungs – Excrete CO₂ and water v***r.
Skin – Removes salts and water through sweat.
Liver – Converts toxic ammonia into less harmful urea.
Key waste products excreted:
Urea, CO₂, water, salts, and bile pigments.
The kidneys alone filter about 180 liters of blood per day, producing roughly 1–2 liters of urine.
