As the faint light of dawn (Fajr) broke across the plains of Karbala, it was time for the morning prayer. Traditionally, Hazrat Hajjaj bin Masroor al-Jafari or another companion would call the Azaan. However, on this final morning, Imam Hussain turned to his eldest son, Ali Akbar.

The moment Imam Hussain asked his 18-year-old son, Hazrat Ali Akbar, to recite the Azaan (the Islamic call to prayer) on the morning of Ashura (the 10th of Muharram) is one of the most poignant and emotionally charged events in the entire tragedy of Karbala.

It carries deep historical, spiritual, and emotional significance for millions around the world.

Even in the face of imminent death, extreme thirst, and overwhelming numbers, Imam Hussain’s primary focus remained the establishment of prayer (Salah). By having Ali Akbar recite the Azaan, the Imam made it undeniably clear to the opposing army that his camp stood firmly on the path of Islam, using the ultimate call to unity as a final message of peace and warning before the battle commenced.

Shortly after this prayer concluded, the tragic battles of Ashura began, and Hazrat Ali Akbar would eventually become the first martyr from the Banu Hashim clan to fall on the sands of Karbala.

شب ِعاشور امامؑ عالی مقامؑ جوانانِ بنی ہاشم کے شوقِ شہادت کا قریب سے مشاہدہ کرتے ہیں۔ شھادت کی تڑپ اور ولی خدا کی راہ میں تلوار چلائے جانے کی امنگ ایک لمحہ بھی سکون لینے نہیں دیتی۔
اسی اثناء میں جنابِ قاسمؑ امام ِوقت سے پوچھتے دکھائی دیتے ہیں کہ آیا مولاؑ میں بھی شہید ہو جاؤں گا؟
حسین ابنِ علیؑ پوچھتے ہیں کہ بیٹا آپؑ موت کو کیسا دیکھتے ہیں؟
پھر تاریخ نے لکھا کہ حیدرِ کرارؑ کے پوتے نے تاریخ ساز جملہ کہا جس کی نظیر کہیں نہیں ملتی اور یہ جملہ فقط اسی گھرانے کے جوان کے لب پر آسکتا ہے۔ آپ ؑ نے فرمایا:
*اَحلی مِنَ العَسَلِ*
چچا جان "موت میرے لیے شہد سے زیادہ شیریں ہے۔"

امام حسینؑ نے اپنے قیام کا ایک مقصد امر بالمعروف اور نہی عن المنکر بیان فرمایا۔ اگر معاشرے میں حق بات کہنے والے خاموش ہو جائیں تو باطل طاقتور ہو جاتا ہے۔ ہمیں اپنی زندگی میں حق کا ساتھ دینا چاہیے۔

یوم حسین(ع)
آئیں عہد کریں:-
"راہِ حق میں ہر قربانی، رضائے الٰہی کی خاطر"

امام رضا علیہ السلام نے فرمایا ،

"اے ابن شبیب! اگر تم امام حسین علیہ السلام پر اس طرح روؤ کہ تمہارے آنسو تمہارے رخساروں پر بہنے لگیں، تو اللّٰہ تعالیٰ تمہارے تمام گناہوں کو بخش دے گا چاہے وہ چھوٹے ہوں یا بڑے، کم ہوں یا زیادہ۔ "
