UIT University had the privilege of hosting the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) – Karachi Chapter’s Student/Faculty Initiative Drive Seminar on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the university auditorium.

The session was led by the following distinguished representatives:
· Engr. Farrukh Ahmed Khan – Senior Member, IEEE-PES Karachi
· Engr. Dr. Raja Masood Larik – Associate Professor, NED University & Senior Member, IEEE-PES Karachi
· Engr. Naveed – Member, IEEE-PES Karachi Chapter

The seminar covered key areas including an introduction to IEEE-PES and its global impact, an overview of local chapter activities, membership benefits, and opportunities for students and faculty in conferences, competitions, scholarships, and leadership roles. The event also featured an induction drive and an interactive Q&A session.

UIT University conducted its 𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 (𝐈𝐀𝐁) Meeting of 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 with distinguished industry professionals, academic leaders, and faculty members to strengthen academia-industry collaboration and enhance curriculum development aligned with emerging technological trends.

The session followed by insightful discussions on Outcome-Based Education (OBE), curriculum enhancement, Final Year Projects (FYPs), communication skills, creativity, Artificial Intelligence, and industry expectations from graduates.

We sincerely appreciate the valuable participation and insightful contributions of Mr. Faraz Siddiqui (Lead Enterprise Architect at Livestock Information Ltd), Mr. Anzar Baig (Head of Information Technology, Dubai Islamic Bank), Ms. Zainab Hamid (Director at TeeSquare), Mr. A.R. Nasir Quraishi (Chief Executive Officer at MITCO Business Solutions).
Their recommendations regarding communication skills, innovation, industry-oriented learning, AI integration, and multidimensional Final Year Projects will contribute significantly toward academic and professional excellence at UIT University.

We are proud to announce that 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐳 𝐊𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐟, a Research Assistant at the Micro Electronics Research Lab (MERL) at UIT University, has been selected for 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞 (𝐆𝐒𝐨𝐂) 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔!
Shehroz will be contributing to the Intel Corporation project, specifically working with the 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐎 Toolkit. Being chosen for such a competitive global program is a testament to his dedication and the high-level research happening right here at MERL.

Yesterday, UIT University hosted an insightful Guest Speaker Session focused on the transformative role of Generative AI in the future of software development.
It was an honor to host 𝑵𝒂𝒋𝒎𝒖𝒔 𝑺𝒂𝒒𝒊𝒃, 𝑫𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝑬𝒏𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒕 𝑫𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒍𝑶𝒄𝒆𝒂𝒏, who shared invaluable insights into 𝑨𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑯𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝑬𝒏𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝑮𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑨𝑰 is fundamentally reshaping the landscape of software creation.
During the session, we explored the AI Shift to understand how GenAI acts as a powerful force multiplier for modern developers, followed by a deep dive into Engineering Agents and the complexities of building robust harnesses for AI-driven systems.

UIT University proudly participated in the 6th International Students Convention and Expo held in Islamabad from 03 May 2026 to 06 May 2026. Students of UIT University, accompanied by Mr. Shahroz Virani, Deputy Registrar – Student Affairs, represented the university in various prestigious academic and co-curricular activities alongside participants from institutions across Pakistan.

Muhammad Ibrahim represented UIT University in the Model United Nations (MUN) competition organized at the Taxila Institute of Archaeology and Civilizations, Quaid-i-Azam University, where he participated in the Pakistani National Assembly simulation as Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman. His dedication, confidence, and impactful performance earned him a Special Recognition Award for his active and remarkable participation in the house.

Darab Ahmed Siddiqui and Muhammad Abdul Moiz also proudly represented UIT University in the Declamation Competition, where students from across Pakistan showcased their exceptional communication and public speaking skills.

On 05 May 2026, the Students Convention and Expo was held at the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST University Islamabad), where universities and young entrepreneurs from different regions of the country exhibited innovative projects, entrepreneurial ventures, and institutional achievements. The event provided an excellent opportunity for students to interact with diverse communities, exchange ideas, and gain valuable exposure and learning experiences.

We were honored to host Rao Shahan Qamar, who shared valuable industry knowledge, practical marketing strategies, and real-world insights with our students. The session highlighted how innovative digital marketing and effective distribution strategies can create a significant impact, even with limited resources.

Students actively participated in the interactive discussion and gained a deeper understanding of modern marketing trends, branding, and business growth strategies.

We were honored to host Ms. Zainab Effendi Haqqi, HOD – Law Department, SZABIST, at UIT University, where she shared valuable insights on the evolving landscape of governance, corporate practices, and business law with our students.
