Maham Ijaz from the Jewellery and Accessory Design Department has chosen to create works that celebrate the essence
and the beauty of nature. The unique and distinctive
objects from our surroundings, that we usually don’t
observe, intrigue her in their structure, form, size,
and texture. The pieces reflect a contrast of organic
and inorganic materials keeping its uniqueness,
originalit, and beauty. Living in a fast-paced life,
she insists one must take a moment to admire
little things that co-exist in our surroundings, by
engaging with the natural world. Through this body
of work, she aims to make the wearer feel closer to
nature and evoke a sense of emotion and wonder-
the idea that we have become so disconnected and
too many of us rarely get to such an experience and
absorb it.
