Today, 8th Meeting of the Finance and Planning Committee (F&PC) of the University of Rasul, Mandi Bahauddin was held under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ul Haq (TI), Vice Chancellor, University of Rasul, Mandi Bahauddin.
The meeting was attended by distinguished members of the committee, including Prof. Dr. Shaista Irshad Khan, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences/ Registrar, Prof. Dr. Faisal Mehmood Mirza, Dean Faculty of Business, Economics & Law, Prof. Dr. Abdul Majid, Dean Faculty of Engineering, Computing & Physical Sciences, Miss Zahida Azher, Additional Secretary, Punjab Higher Education Commission, Mr. Asghar Ali, Section Officer, College & Universities Finance Department, Government of Punjab, Mr. Arslan Majeed, Deputy Director (Finance), Higher Education Commission Islamabad, Mr. Kashif Naz, Deputy Director (Finance), Punjab Higher Education Commission Lahore, and Mr. Abdul Waheed Butt, Treasurer, University of Rasul, Mandi Bahauddin.
During the meeting, members reviewed and deliberated upon various financial, administrative, and development-related agenda items aimed at strengthening the University's academic and institutional growth. The committee discussed budgetary matters, resource allocation, future development projects, and strategies for ensuring effective financial management and sustainable growth of the University.
Addressing the participants, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ul Haq (TI) emphasized the importance of transparent financial planning, prudent utilization of resources, and strategic development initiatives to achieve excellence in higher education.
We appreciate the continued support by the Government of Punjab, Finance Department, Higher Education Department (HED), Punjab, Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad, and Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC). Today, The second meeting of the Academic Council of the University of Rasul, Mandi Bahauddin, was held under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Zahoor Ul Haq (TI), Vice Chancellor, University of Rasul, Mandi Bahauddin.
The proceedings of the meeting were conducted by Professor Dr. Shaista Irshad Khan, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences/Registrar, who warmly welcomed the distinguished members of the Academic Council and presented the agenda items for deliberation and approval. During her opening remarks, she highlighted the academic progress of the University and emphasized the importance of collective decision-making in strengthening academic excellence and quality assurance.
The Academic Council reviewed and discussed various academic matters pertaining to the University's growth and development. The Council was informed that the University currently comprises four faculties offering 26 BS degree programs, reflecting its commitment to providing quality higher education in diverse disciplines.
The meeting was attended by the Deans of all four faculties, Senior Professor, Chairpersons, Associate Professors, Assistant professors, and Lecturers. Distinguished external members of the Academic Council also participated, including Dr. Muhammad Adress, Professor of Environmental Sciences, Government College University Faisalabad (Eminent Person – Pure Sciences); Dr. Muhammad Waqar Khan, Assistant Professor, University of Chakwal (Eminent Person – Social Sciences); and Dr. Beenish Ijaz Butt, Professor of Sociology, University of Sargodha (Eminent Person – Arts).
Among the ex-officio members present was Madam Zahida Azhar, Secretary Higher Education Department (Nominee). The meeting was further attended by the Controller of Examinations and Eminent education Experts, including Dr. Ijaz Ahmad Tatlah, Prof. Dr. Azhar Mehmood, Dr. Muhammad Nadeem Anwar, and Dr. Afifa Khanam.
Dr. Zulcaif, Director Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), also attended the meeting as a non-voting member of the Academic Council.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Zahoor Ul Haq (TI), appreciated the valuable contributions of all members and emphasized the University commitment to academic excellence, quality education, innovation, and adherence to national higher education standards. The meeting concluded with a comprehensive discussion on agenda items and a reaffirmation of the University vision to emerge as a leading institution of higher learning in Pakistan.

On 5th June, the Environmental & Green Society (EGS), University of Rasul, organized an online awareness session in observance of World Environment Day 2026 to highlight the importance of environmental protection, climate change mitigation, sustainable resource management, and our shared responsibility for a sustainable future.

The session was delivered by Dr. Sajjad Saeed from the Pakistan Forest Institute, who shared valuable insights into the role of forests in mitigating climate change, conserving biodiversity, and maintaining ecological balance. Through his informative talk, participants gained a better understanding of environmental challenges and the importance of adopting sustainable practices for a greener future. 🌍🌱♻️

The Dramatic Club, under the aegis of the Office of the Director of Student Affairs, convened an immersive workshop on the art of drama and theatre. The session was graciously led by *Prof. Farukh Hameed, PhD in Drama and Theatre*, accompanied by three of her protégés, presently serving at the University of Chenab, Gujrat. Through the demonstration of diverse performance techniques and a series of evocative enactments, they unveiled the nuance and vitality inherent in the craft, offering the audience a living testament to the power of the stage.

UoR’s own Dramatic Club students took to the boards as well, presenting stirring monologues that illuminated their burgeoning talent and ardour for performance.

Enriched by the experience, the participants departed with a renewed zeal, eager to breathe life into classical literary drama upon the cultural platform of the University of Rasul, Mandi Bahauddin.

The workshop flourished under the esteemed patronage of *Dr. Mudasar Jahan, Patron*, and *Miss Amna Mushtaq, Co-Patron*.

Today, The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), in collaboration with the University of Rasul, Mandi Bahauddin, successfully organized the PSB Peak Performance Sports Coaches Course, bringing together coaches and sports professionals from various disciplines for an enriching learning experience.
Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ul Haq (TI), Vice Chancellor, University of Rasul Mandi Bahauddin emphasized the importance of continuous professional development for coaches to meet contemporary challenges in sports and to elevate athletic performance at national and international levels.
Prof. Dr. Shaista Irshad Khan, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences/ Registrar, University of Rasul, distributed certificates among the participants in recognition of their successful completion of the training course and Shields to the resource persons & distinguished guests as a token of appreciation for their valuable contributions and services. She congratulated the participants and emphasized the importance of continuous professional development in enhancing the quality of sports coaching and athlete performance in Pakistan.
Mr. Mumtaz-ul-Haq, Deputy Director General, Pakistan Sports Board, along with representatives of PSB and the University of Rasul, reaffirmed their commitment to promoting sports education, capacity building, and coaching excellence through collaborative initiatives.
Participants highly appreciated the training program and expressed their gratitude to the Pakistan Sports Board and the University of Rasul for providing a valuable platform for professional growth, knowledge sharing, and networking.
The successful conduct of this course reflects the University of Rasul growing role in advancing academic, professional, and sports excellence while contributing to the development of quality coaching standards in Pakistan.

As part of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Punjab initiative commemorating 75 years of Pakistan–China diplomatic friendship, the University of Rasul successfully organized online presentations on Chinese culture and traditions under the visionary leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zahoor ul Haq (TI).

The sessions were conducted for the faculty members and students of the university and featured distinguished Chinese speakers, including Chen Yutong and Xiao Yuhan from China University of Geosciences, along with Wang Xuemeng and Xu Ziyang from Beijing Forestry University. The presentations provided valuable insights into Chinese cultural heritage, traditions, language, and the historical significance of Pakistan–China relations.

These academic and cultural engagements reflected the shared commitment of both countries toward strengthening educational cooperation, promoting intercultural understanding, and further enhancing the enduring bond of friendship between Pakistan and China.
