Vice Chancellor, The Women University Multan, Prof. Dr. Syeda Shahida Batool, has directed the Institute of Computer Science and Information Technology to take immediate and effective measures for addressing the observations raised by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) regarding Computer Science programmes. She also directed that students be prepared in a comprehensive, organized, and result-oriented manner for the National Competency Test and other academic assessments, while overall performance deficiencies among students should be identified and addressed on priority.

According to the university spokesperson, an important meeting regarding Computer Science programmes was held at The Women University Multan under the chairpersonship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syeda Shahida Batool. The meeting was attended by faculty members of the Institute of Computer Science and Information Technology. Detailed discussions were held on HEC observations, future strategy for their resolution, students’ academic preparation, improvement of performance in the National Competency Test, assurance of teaching quality, and continuous coordination with HEC.

Addressing the meeting, the Vice Chancellor directed the faculty to maintain regular, effective, and result-oriented liaison with HEC so that all observations may be addressed in a timely manner and the continuity of academic programmes can be ensured. She reaffirmed that the university is fully committed to maintaining high academic standards, transparency, and compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Prof. Dr. Syeda Shahida Batool further directed that the quality of teaching in Computer Science programmes must be ensured at every level. She instructed the faculty to arrange intensive preparatory courses, focused academic sessions, and mock tests to strengthen students’ academic performance. She emphasized that students must be prepared for the National Competency Test through proper planning, modern teaching strategies, continuous guidance, and regular evaluation so that they may participate in the test with confidence and achieve improved results.

During the meeting, various proposals were presented to improve students’ examination preparation, mock test performance, academic outcomes, and overall learning standards. It was stressed that faculty members should regularly assess students’ performance, identify overall academic deficiencies, and provide necessary guidance, support, and academic assistance according to students’ needs.

The meeting also decided that the university would provide opportunities not only to outstanding students but also to all eligible students, enabling them to demonstrate their abilities and improve their academic standing through structured preparation and continuous guidance.

The Vice Chancellor further directed the Chairperson of the Institute of Computer Science and Information Technology to submit a weekly progress report on the matter, enabling regular review of ongoing measures and timely guidance where required.

Participants expressed the hope that through effective planning, focused training, sustained teaching quality, and comprehensive preparation, the students of The Women University Multan would perform successfully in the National Competency Test and other academic assessments, bringing distinction to the institution.

In her concluding remarks, Prof. Dr. Syeda Shahida Batool reiterated that in future admissions, the university would ensure quality rather than quantity, so that academically capable, deserving, and well-prepared students may be provided with the best opportunities for higher learning. She urged faculty members to further strengthen their efforts for students’ guidance, training, and professional development so that The Women University Multan may continue to uphold its commitment to academic excellence at the national level.

🚦🚙 WUM Students Explore Traffic Management, Road Safety and FM Radio Operations During CTO Office Visit

Students of the Department of Media and Communication Studies, Women University Multan, accompanied by faculty members Ms. Amna Fazail and Ms. Sadia Talib, visited the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Office, Multan as part of an educational tour.

During the visit, students explored various departments, including the Driving School and the Driving License Section, where they learned about the driving license issuance process, road safety measures, and traffic management practices. Officials also informed students about the driving courses offered at the Driving School for both male and female learners, including car, motorcycle, and scooty driving training, and explained how interested individuals can enroll and develop safe driving skills.

The students were also introduced to traffic management equipment, police weapons, traffic signs, and other operational tools used by the Traffic Police.

The group also visited the FM Radio Station88.6 located at the CTO Office, where students were introduced to the functioning of the radio station and its role in public awareness and traffic safety campaigns. During the visit, officials announced internship opportunities for media and journalism students, stating that selected students would be given the chance to work at the FM station, and upon successful completion of their internship, proper certificates would be provided.

The group had the opportunity to meet CTO Multan, Mr. Nabeel Khokhar, who shared valuable insights about traffic regulations, public safety, and the role of youth in promoting responsible road behavior.

At the conclusion of the visit, certificates were awarded to students. In addition, students received Traffic Help Volunteer Cards, recognizing them as Traffic Police Volunteers and encouraging their participation in road safety awareness activities.

دی ویمن یونیورسٹی ملتان میں ’’اردو تحقیق کے جدید رجحانات‘‘ کے موضوع پر علمی و ادبی سیمینار کا انعقاد

شعبۂ اردو، دی ویمن یونیورسٹی ملتان کے ارمغانِ ادبی فورم کے زیرِ اہتمام 18 جون 2026 بروز جمعرات ایم فل اور پی ایچ ڈی کی طالبات کے کمپری ہینسو ٹیسٹ کے بعد ’’اردو تحقیق کے جدید رجحانات‘‘ کے موضوع پر ایک علمی و ادبی سیمینار منعقد کیا گیا۔ سیمینار کا بنیادی مقصد ایم فل اور پی ایچ ڈی کے تحقیقی میدان میں قدم رکھنے والی طالبات کو اردو تحقیق کے بدلتے ہوئے معیارات، نئے علمی رجحانات اور معاصر تحقیقی تقاضوں سے روشناس کروانا تھا تاکہ وہ اپنی تحقیقی سرگرمیوں کو جدید تحقیقی اصولوں کے مطابق مؤثر اور بہتر انداز میں آگے بڑھا سکیں۔

سیمینار میں شعبۂ اردو کے ایم فل اور پی ایچ ڈی ریسرچ اسکالرز نے بھرپور شرکت کی۔ تقریب کا باقاعدہ آغاز تلاوتِ کلامِ پاک اور نعتِ رسولِ مقبول ﷺ سے ہوا۔

اس علمی نشست کی صدارت شعبۂ اردو، اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے پروفیسر ڈاکٹر لیاقت علی نے کی، جبکہ اورینٹل کالج، پنجاب یونیورسٹی لاہور کے ایسوسی ایٹ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نعیم ورک اور اسسٹنٹ پروفیسر ساجد صدیق نظامی مہمانانِ خصوصی تھے۔

مقررین نے اردو تحقیق کے موجودہ منظرنامے، تحقیقی مسائل، ڈیجیٹل ذرائع کے استعمال اور معیاری تحقیق کے بنیادی اصولوں پر نہایت بلیغ اور بصیرت افروز گفتگو کی۔ انہوں نے اس امر پر زور دیا کہ تحقیق میں تنقیدی شعور، مستند اور اصل مآخذ تک رسائی، نیز علمی دیانت داری بنیادی اہمیت کے حامل عناصر ہیں۔

اپنے خطابات میں مقررین نے اس حقیقت کو اجاگر کیا کہ جدید دور میں تحقیق محض تاریخی یا معلوماتی مواد جمع کرنے کا نام نہیں بلکہ یہ محقق سے نئے زاویۂ فکر، تجزیاتی بصیرت اور علمی وسعت کا تقاضا کرتی ہے۔ انہوں نے طلبہ و طالبات کو تلقین کی کہ وہ جدید ٹیکنالوجی اور ڈیجیٹل ذرائع سے بھرپور استفادہ کریں تاکہ اردو تحقیق کو عالمی علمی معیارات سے ہم آہنگ کیا جا سکے۔

سیمینار کے اختتام پر سوال و جواب کا ایک مختصر مگر مفید سیشن بھی منعقد ہوا، جس میں ریسرچ اسکالرز نے تحقیق سے متعلق مختلف سوالات کیے۔ مقررین نے ان سوالات کے تفصیلی اور رہنمائی پر مبنی جوابات دیے، جس سے شرکاء کو تحقیقی امور کے حوالے سے قیمتی معلومات حاصل ہوئیں۔

تقریب میں نظامت کے فرائض پی ایچ ڈی اسکالرز محدثہ زہرہ اور زونیرہ صدیق نے انجام دیے۔ سیمینار کے اختتام پر صدر شعبۂ اردو ڈاکٹر عذرا لیاقت نے کامیاب اور فکر انگیز علمی نشست کے انعقاد پر دلی مسرت کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے معزز مہمانوں کا شکریہ ادا کیا۔ بعد ازاں مہمانانِ خصوصی اور مقررین میں اعزازی اسناد تقسیم کی گئیں۔

Successful Public Defense Ceremony of Ms Sidra Mustafa held at Katchery Campus, The Women University Multan, Pakistan.

The Women University Multan PhD Scholar Sidra Mustafa, Department of Chemistry has been recommended for the doctoral degree after successful public defense ceremony held at Katchery Campus, The Women University Multan. Her thesis title was “Synthesis Characterization and Biological activities of Substituted Pyridine Moiety” She did her work under supervision of Dr. Samina Aslam, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, The Women University Multan. Her external supervisors were Prof. Dr Aziz Ur Rehman, Director, Institute of Chemistry, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Pakistan. Ms Sidra Mustafa presented her research work about synthesis of derivatives of Pyridine and evaluates them for different biological applications like Antioxident, Antifungal, antiurease etc.

These findings underscore the potential of Pyridine-based hybrids as multifunctional enzyme inhibitors and provide a foundation for future optimization and preclinical evaluation. Overall this research provides basis for the future development of Pyridine derivatives for the pharmaceutical industry with enhanced biological applications.She defended her work very well and after queries session, it was recommended from the participants to award the degree to Dr. Sidra Mustafa. On this occasion Chairperson Dr Sara Musaddiq and other faculty members of Chemistry Department were present and congratulated Dr Sidra Mustafa and appreciated her work.

💯 VC Calls for Innovative Academic Strategies and Research-Driven Programs to Strengthen Institutional Excellence

Vice Chancellor of Women University Multan, Prof. Dr. Syeda Shahida Batool, chaired an important meeting with all departmental chairpersons regarding the upcoming academic session and admission campaign. The meeting was also attended by Registrar Dr. Deeba Shahwar.

During the session, Mr. Saeed Tahir, Secretary Admission Committee, presented a comprehensive briefing on departmental student strength, academic programs, admission trends, and future enrollment prospects.
