IDSP – Pakistan : IDSP’s Short Video | World Environment Day Celebration & Inauguration of Community Physical Infrastructure (CPI) Schemes. The Institute for Development Studies and Practices (IDSP), with financial support from the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), celebrated World Environment Day in Killi Shadaizai, Urak, Quetta. The event featured a plantation drive to promote environmental sustainability and the inauguration of two Community Physical Infrastructure (CPI) schemes: the rehabilitated Government Boys' Primary School and the Drinking Water Supply Scheme. The celebration brought together community members, students, teachers, village elders, and the IDSP team to reaffirm their commitment to environmental protection, community development, and climate resilience. IDSP – Pakistan: Students from the 6th Semester of the Department of Economics and the 6th Semester of Environmental Sciences at BUITEMS visited the IDSP University of Community Development. During the visit, they were introduced to IDSP’s thematic area, “Sustainable Practices in Living and Livelihood,” and were given a comprehensive tour of the University of Community Development campus. The session highlighted IDSP’s initiatives in sustainable living, renewable energy, organic farming, rainwater harvesting, traditional architecture, and community-based livelihood practices. The students actively participated in discussions, showed keen interest in the concepts presented, and greatly appreciated the practical learning opportunities provided during the visit. The visit served as a valuable platform for connecting academic learning with real-world sustainable development practices and community engagement.

IDSP – Pakistan: The students of Gulistan School Manzaki, Pishin, along with their faculty members, visited the IDSP University of Community Development (UCD), Quetta as part of an educational study tour. The visit was accompanied by the school's Vice Principal, Mr. Muhammad Waris, and School Director, Mr. Muhammad Ikram. During the visit, the students explored various initiatives and learning models being implemented at the University of Community Development. They were introduced to innovative and community-based approaches in sustainable development, including rainwater harvesting systems, solar and wind energy solutions, organic agriculture practices, vermi-composting, livestock management, and poultry farming. The students also observed the unique architectural design of the IDSP campus, which reflects environmentally friendly and sustainable construction practices. In addition, they learned about entrepreneurship and community-driven development initiatives that promote self-reliance and local innovation. The study visit provided a valuable opportunity for students to gain practical exposure, broaden their understanding of sustainable living and livelihood practices, and experience an alternative model of learning that connects education with real-life community development challenges and solutions.

IDSP- Pakistan : World Environment Day Celebrated in Killi Shadaizai, Urak, Quetta, The Institute for Development Studies and Practices (IDSP), with the financial support of the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), celebrated World Environment Day in Killi Shadaizai, Urak, Quetta. On this occasion, IDSP officially inaugurated the rehabilitated Government Boys' Primary School and the Drinking Water Supply Scheme, which were completed under the Community Physical Infrastructure (CPI) initiative. The inauguration ceremony was attended by community elders, students, teachers, local residents, and the IDSP team led by Dr. Qurat Ul Ain Bakhteari. As part of the World Environment Day celebrations, a plantation drive was organized, during which trees were planted within the school premises and surrounding community areas. Awareness sessions and lectures on environmental protection, climate change, cleanliness, and the importance of tree plantation were conducted for students, teachers, and community members. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Qurat Ul Ain Bakhteari emphasized the collective responsibility of communities to protect natural resources, promote environmental sustainability, and ensure a cleaner and healthier future for coming generations. Community elders appreciated the support provided by PPAF and IDSP in improving access to education and safe drinking water. They also highlighted the importance of community participation in maintaining public infrastructure and protecting the environment. At the conclusion of the event, students, teachers, and community members pledged to keep their area clean, plant more trees, and actively contribute to environmental conservation efforts. The event reflected a strong commitment by local communities and development partners to promote sustainable development and environmental stewardship in Balochistan.
