قَالَ يَا مُوسَىٰ إِنِّي اصْطَفَيْتُكَ عَلَى النَّاسِ بِرِسَالَاتِي وَبِكَلَامِي فَخُذْ مَا آتَيْتُكَ وَكُنْ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ

Allah said:
"O Mūsā (Moses), I have chosen you above the people with My messages and with My words. So take what I have given you and be among the grateful."

اللہ نے فرمایا
"اے موسیٰ! میں نے تمہیں اپنے پیغامات اور تم سے ہمکلام ہونے کے ذریعہ تمام لوگوں پر چن لیا ہے۔ پس جو میں نے تمہیں دیا ہے اسے مضبوطی سے پکڑو اور شکر گزاروں میں سے بن جاؤ۔"

Allah reminds Prophet Mūsā عليه السلام of His special favor:

He chose him for prophethood,

He spoke to him directly (Kalimullāh),

And entrusted him with divine messages.

After mentioning these blessings, Allah commands him to be among the grateful, meaning:

Acknowledge Allah’s favors,

Obey Him continuously,

Fulfill His commandments,

And show gratitude through action, not only words.

This verse also teaches us that the higher the blessing, the greater the responsibility to show gratitude.

كَتَبَ رَبُّكُمْ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِ الرَّحْمَةَ
1. Your Lord has written upon His soul mercy.

2. Your Lord has enjoined mercy upon Himself.

3. Your Lord has prescribed for Himself mercy.

1. تمہارے رب نے اپنے اوپر رحمت لازم کر لی ہے۔

2. تمہارے رب نے اپنی ذات پر رحم کو فرض کر لیا ہے۔

3. تمہارے رب نے اپنے لیے رحمت کو مقرر فرما دیا ہے۔

يُخبر الله تعالى عباده أنه من واسع رحمته وكرمه كتب على نفسه الرحمة، أي أوجبها على ذاته العليّة تفضّلًا وإحسانًا، وليس لأحد أن يُوجِب على الله شيئًا، ولكن الله سبحانه أوجبها على نفسه رحمة بعباده وشفقة عليهم.
فمعنى الآية أن الله سبحانه يتعامل مع عباده على أساس الرحمة والمغفرة، وأن رحمته سبقت غضبه، وأنه يقبل من عبده التوبة والإنابة مهما عظمت ذنوبه، ما دام يرجع إليه بقلب صادق وتوبة نصوح.

اس آیت میں اللہ تعالیٰ اپنے بندوں پر اپنی بے پناہ شفقت ظاہر فرماتا ہے کہ اس نے اپنے اوپر رحمت کو لازم قرار دیا ہے۔ یعنی اللہ کی صفتِ رحمت اس کے ہر معاملے اور فیصلے کی بنیاد ہے۔
اللہ کا معاملہ بندوں کے ساتھ سختی سے نہیں بلکہ نرمی، معافی اور رحمت سے ہے۔
یہاں یہ بھی بیان ہوتا ہے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ اپنے بندے کی توبہ کو قبول کرنے کے لیے تیار ہے، چاہے اس نے کتنے ہی گناہ کیوں نہ کیے ہوں۔
اللہ کی رحمت اس کے غضب پر غالب ہے، اور وہ بندے کے ذرا سا رجوع کرنے پر بھی اسے معاف کرنے پر راضی ہوجاتا ہے۔

In this verse, Allah beautifully declares His kindness by saying that He has written mercy upon Himself.
This does not mean anyone can obligate Allah; rather, out of His own generosity, Allah has chosen mercy as the foundation of His dealings with His servants.
It means:

Allah’s mercy is vast and dominant.

His forgiveness overcomes His anger.

He accepts repentance regardless of the magnitude of one’s sins.

Whenever a servant returns to Allah sincerely, Allah receives him with compassion, not punishment.

This verse gives believers hope, comfort, and certainty that Allah’s mercy is always open for them.

اللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْ جَمِيعَ أَعْمَالِي صَالِحَةً، وَاجْعَلْهَا خَالِصَةً لِوَجْهِكَ الْكَرِيمِ. آمِينُ يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ.

O Allah! Make all my actions righteous,
and make them sincere for Your Noble Face.
Ameen, Ameen, O Lord of all the worlds.

اے اللہ! میری تمام اعمال کو نیک بنا دے،
اور انہیں اپنے خالص رضا کے لیے قبول فرما۔
آمین، پھر آمین، اے ربِّ العالمین۔

اس دعا میں بندہ اللہ سے یہ درخواست کرتا ہے کہ اس کے تمام اعمال صالح ہوں—یعنی وہ اعمال جو اللہ کے حکم، نبی ﷺ کی سنت اور دین کی خوشنودی کے مطابق ہوں۔

ساتھ ہی بندہ اللہ سے یہ بھی مانگتا ہے کہ اعمال میں اخلاص عطا ہو، یعنی ہر کام صرف اللہ کے لیے ہو، دکھاوے اور ریا سے پاک ہو۔

آخر میں آمین یا ربّ العالمین کہہ کر بندہ اللہ کی رحمت، قبولیت اور مدد کا سوال کرتا ہے۔

یہ دعا انسان کے دل کو پاکیزہ کرتی ہے اور ہر عمل کو اللہ کی رضا کے مطابق بنانے کی توفیق دیتی ہے ۔
