Taxila | On the Way to becoming World Heritage City.
Taxila, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1980, is an ancient archaeological complex in Pakistan comprising four distinct settlements—Saraikhala, Bhir Mound, Sirkap, and Sirsukh—dating from 3500 BCE to 6th century CE. As a former capital of Gandhara and a major center of Buddhist learning, it represents a profound "melting pot of Greek, Persian, Indian, and Central Asian influences".
