🕊️ Con profundo pesar, la familia de Ponce Health Sciences University lamenta el fallecimiento del Dr. Raúl A. Armstrong Mayoral, MD, FACS, médico cirujano, educador, veterano de guerra y servidor público ejemplar.
Durante más de cuatro décadas, el Dr. Armstrong dedicó su vida a la formación de médicos desde nuestra Escuela de Medicina, dejando una huella imborrable en generaciones de profesionales de la salud. Nativo de Ponce, ejerció la cirugía con excelencia y vocación de servicio, siendo reconocido por sus extraordinarias contribuciones a la medicina puertorriqueña.
A lo largo de su distinguida trayectoria en PHSU, ocupó importantes cargos de liderazgo, incluyendo presidente y decano, director del Departamento de Cirugía, presidente del Senado Académico y presidente del Comité de Currículo. En reconocimiento a su legado, fue nombrado Profesor Emérito de nuestra institución.
Hoy honramos la vida, el liderazgo y el compromiso de un hombre cuya sabiduría, serenidad y dedicación al servicio de su pueblo inspirarán por siempre a nuestra comunidad universitaria.
Extendemos nuestras más sinceras condolencias a sus familiares, amigos, colegas y a todos aquellos que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo.

🌟 PHSU proudly showcased its commitment to innovation in health sciences education at the 30th Annual Conference of the International Association of Medical Science Educators (IAMSE) in Augusta, Georgia. This year's conference theme, "Flourishing Through Change: Adaptability, Innovation, and Growth in Health Sciences Education," brought together educators and researchers from around the world to share transformative educational practices.
Our faculty and staff represented Puerto Rico and PHSU through oral and poster presentations highlighting innovative educational initiatives designed to enhance student success, language proficiency, communication skills, and healthcare training. These contributions reflected our ongoing dedication to advancing excellence in health sciences education.
A special congratulations to Ms. Lynoshka Caraballo, recipient of the Outstanding Faculty Poster Presentation Award, recognizing the impact and quality of her educational scholarship. This achievement exemplifies the caliber of research and innovation emerging from the PHSU community.
