Aeroponic Chard 🌱🌱

Chard is a leafy green vegetable common in Mediterranean cuisine. Particularly popular in Italian food, it's often featured in pasta dishes, in risotto, and even on pizza. While Swiss chard may be the best known, it comes in a variety of colors, including red and golden chard.

No matter the color, it's easy to prepare, and there are a few different ways you can cook with it 🧑‍🍳👨‍🍳

Aeroponic cabbage 😋😋

Cabbage sprouts belong to the Cruciferae family and to the Brassica oleracea L species, with two varieties to be highlighted:

👉 Brassica oleracea var capitata, which includes flat leaf cabbage;
👉 Brassica oleracea var bullata, which includes Lombard sprouts (fried leaf cabbage).

They are biennial plants, with an upright root provided with numerous lateral roots, responsible for absorbing water and nutrients. The stems are sparsely branched and erect.

The leaves are green (more or less accentuated) or purple, have entire margins, oval in shape and more or less rough to the touch, this being the characteristic that differentiates the two varieties. As a result of hypertrophy in the terminal zone of the stem and the embracing disposition assumed by the upper leaves, they end up forming cabbages, where important reserves accumulate.

Normally, when the crop is grown for commercial purposes, it is at this stage that the harvest is carried out 🧑‍🌾👩‍🌾
