Energy, Connection, and Motivation at Brasov Toastmasters
What a cozy and family-like meeting we had this week! An evening filled with learning, reflection, and inspiration.
Our journey began with Alex, who shared fascinating insights into nuclear energy and explained how an incredibly small amount of uranium can generate enough electricity to power a household for many years, reminding us of the immense energy hidden in nature.
Carolina invited us to reflect on a different kind of energy: the one within ourselves. She explored how some people recharge through crowds, activity, and social interaction, while others find strength in silence, home, and solitude. Solitude, she reminded us, is not something to fear, but a gift that allows us to reset, reconnect, and appreciate our own company.
Congratulations to DragoΘ, who completed his fourth Pathways project with a speech " Cold Water Plunge" . Through his story, he inspired us with his resilience, his passion for obstacle course racing, and his determination to keep pushing beyond limits.
During Table Topics, Victor won Best Impromptu Speaker with a thoughtful answer to the question: "If only one electrical outlet in the world still worked, what would you choose to power?" He chose his phone and convincingly explained why staying connected, nurturing his voracious appetite for conversations, and continuing his Duolingo journey made it his top priority.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the warm atmosphere and lively discussions. Another memorable evening of learning, laughter, and connection.
A big shout out to Teatrul De Buzunar for hosting us.
See you next week!

History in the Making, indeed! This week, at Brasov Toastmasters Club, we celebrated history, communication and leadership!
The Toastmaster of the evening, Darius, inspired us to make history.
Valentyn made his first step after the Ice Breaker, delivering the second speech of his educational pathway. And he did it by anchoring himself into a subject he is passionate about - yes, history.
Dragos won the Table Topics section by comparing a superpowered desired by many through history to social media. A comparison fit for the VPPR.
History, democracy and leadership: members have voted the new Board which will start activities as of 1st of July 2026.
A round of applause for the elected officers and a shout out to Charles, not only for moderating the elections, but for also creating a ceremonial atmosphere.
Warm thanks to Teatrul De Buzunar for hosting our activities.
See you next week!

π©βπ¦° - Did you hear? With her double speech: "Believe in Gossip", Oana Cotoi has finished her Level 1, in her Dynamic Leadership Pathway.
π±ββοΈ - That is amazing - I knew that she had it in her to do that, from the moment I laid my eyes on her.
π©βπ¦° - I must say that I impressed. I know that she is involved in so many activities - I was not sure she will find the time to progress in her Pathway.
π±ββοΈ - She is a model for all of us. I wish other members would follow her lead.
π±ββοΈπ©βπ¦°π§ββοΈπ§ - Oana, congratulations for finishing your Level one on the Dynamic Leadership Pathway (and thank you for making Gossip Great Again)!

This week we didn't just learned something about learning, we learned about Ultra-Learning. Did you know that someone got to the Toastmasters speech contest finals by following the ultra-learning principles? William, out Toastmaster of the evening shared this information and much more, which can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFw2XPqPf-U
We didn't just celebrated efficient learning, but also the induction of our newest member, Teo.
Oana finished the first level of her Dynamic Leadership Pathway. Some say the speech was about gossip, gossiper and gossipee.
A round of applause to Alex, for winning the best Table Topics section, by surprising us with the anti-charity method.
And a big shout out to Teatrul De Buzunar for hosting us.

This week, the Toastmaster started the meeting by doing nothing... And everything. YouToast, inspired by the 2006 Times Magazine Person of the Year, allowed the meeting to start autonomously. The members chose the theme by voting a poll.
The theme chosen was *Deep psychology of cartoons*. Did you know the common thing between all four villains of Kung Fu Panda was the fear of failure? Well, the following Toastmaster surely weren't afraid to speak.
William delivered a speech related to mentorship and how to get the most out of your mentors.
Oana was the second speaker of the evening. Rumors have it was about gossip.
Charles won theprize for the Best Tablet Topic speech.
A big shout out to Teatrul De Buzunar fost hosting us.
See you next time!
