ACORNS Nursery

🎈Red Nose Festival is a special charity fundraising event inspired by the spirit of Red Nose Day in the UK, encouraging children and adults to discover that helping others can be both meaningful and rewarding. At Acorns, we have proudly organized our own version of this event for over 13 years, supporting local charities with the generosity of families from both Acorns locations.

🔴Over the years, what began as a single day of fundraising has grown into our much-loved Red Nose Festival, bringing together children, families, staff, and community partners in support of important causes.

This year, the children from both locations took part in preparing 🍋 fruity snacks and refreshing drinks, enjoyed a fun-filled Red Nose Party, and hosted a successful 🍏 Fruity Sale.

Thanks to the kindness and generosity of our Acorns families, we raised funds to support Light Into Europe Charity, an organisation dedicated to improving the quality of life of children and adults with visual impairments and other disabilities through assistance dogs, therapy dogs, and sensory support programmes.

Through this experience, the children learned that even small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

What an unforgettable weekend!

Our Paddington-themed Community Garden Party brought together children, families, alumni, staff, partners, and friends for a joyful day of adventure, connection, and celebration.

As we journeyed from Peru to London with Paddington, crossed oceans, delivered royal tea, planted seeds, created memories, and shared laughter, we were reminded of something very special: the strength of our community.

This year’s event was particularly meaningful as we celebrated of — two decades of nurturing childhood, inspiring learning, and supporting families in Bucharest. Looking around the garden and seeing generations of Acorns families together was a powerful reminder of how far we have come and the incredible community we have built along the way.

We are also proud that the funds raised during the event will support Conferința de Educație Timpurie First7, helping us continue to champion quality early childhood education and create opportunities for learning, collaboration, and professional growth within our sector.

A heartfelt thank you to every family who attended, donated, volunteered, and celebrated with us. Your presence made this event truly special.

Our Adventure at the TAROM Hangar ✈️
There was great excitement in the air as our children set off for a very special visit to the TAROM Hangar!
From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by a real pilot and a flight attendant, who gave us a fascinating glimpse into the world of aviation. The children were full of questions and listened with great interest as they learned about what it takes to prepare for a flight and the important people who help keep passengers safe.

One of the most memorable moments was standing close enough to watch airplanes land and waving enthusiastically as they touched down. Seeing these enormous aircraft up close was a truly magical experience and sparked many conversations about travel, adventure, and the wonders of flight.

The excitement continued when the children were invited on board a real airplane. They explored the cabin, imagined themselves travelling to destinations around the world, and even had the rare opportunity to step inside the cockpit. Sitting where the pilots sit and seeing all the buttons, controls, and instruments was a highlight that many will be talking about for a long time!

The visit brought learning to life in the most meaningful way. Through first-hand experiences, the children explored new vocabulary, discovered different careers, and gained a deeper understanding of how people, places, and communities are connected through travel.

20 years of Baby Acorns. 🌱

What began in 2006 as the first private nursery in Bucharest has grown into a place filled with warmth, trust, discovery and care — a true home for some of the most important years in a child’s life.

Baby Acorns was created with a clear vision: to offer something different, something more personal, something built around the child. With one educator for every 4 children, those early years were given the attention, security and meaningful learning they deserve.

Because the baby and toddler years are not “too early” to matter.
They are the foundation of everything that comes next.

Two decades later, our purpose remains the same: to nurture curious minds, gentle hearts and confident little steps in an English-speaking, British curriculum nursery in Bucharest.
