⚡ POLITEHNICA Bucharest at FOREN 2026 ⚡
Between 14–17 June 2026, representatives of Universitatea POLITEHNICA din București contributed to discussions and knowledge exchange at FOREN 2026 – the WEC Central & Eastern Europe Energy Forum, one of the region’s leading events dedicated to the future of the energy sector.
The university was represented in the program sessions by moderators and speakers as follows:
🔹Professor Horia Necula, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Strategic Partnerships, served as moderator of the session “Adapting Human Resources to the Requirements of the Energy Industry in the Digital Era”, guiding discussions on the competencies and skills required in an increasingly digitalized energy sector.
🔹Associate Professor Alexandra Cernian, AI expert and event speaker, addressed the impact of artificial intelligence, automation, and digital transformation on the labour market.
🔹Professor Radu Porumb, Director of the Doctoral School of Energy Engineering and Professor Ion Tristiu, Head of Department at the Faculty of Energy Engineering, served as moderators of the session “Development of the Electricity and Gas Network Grid in the Energy Transition”, focusing on the challenges and opportunities of modernizing energy infrastructure.
The participation of POLITEHNICA Bucharest at FOREN 2026 reflects the university’s ongoing engagement in key topics at the intersection of energy, technology, research, and higher education, and its contribution of academic expertise to discussions on the future of the energy sector.

At the 4th EELISA Scientific Student Competition, held on 21–22 May at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, students from Politehnica București brought home an outstanding set of results:

Universitatea POLITEHNICA din București was represented by the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Transport, Florin Nemtanu, within the Romanian delegation at 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐚 (𝐓𝐑𝐀) 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, one of Europe’s leading conferences dedicated to transport research and innovation.
Held in Budapest (18–21 May 2026), the event brought together researchers, industry experts, policymakers, and stakeholders from around the world to explore the future of sustainable, smart, and resilient mobility.
Participation in TRA 2026 reflects POLITEHNICA Bucharest’s strong commitment to advancing European transport research and supporting innovation in areas such as digitalisation, intelligent transport systems, and sustainable mobility solutions. 🌱🚀
The conference also provided a valuable platform to strengthen international cooperation, exchange expertise with leading specialists, and showcase the academic and research contributions of the Faculty of Transport.

🌍 Universitatea POLITEHNICA din București continued its international engagement at the 𝐍𝐀𝐅𝐒𝐀 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 & 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐨, held in Orlando, Florida, between 26-29 May 2026.
Our university was represented by Vice-Rector Valentin Năvrăpescu at the booth, organized by the National Council of Rectors (CNR). The event brought together thousands of higher education leaders and international education professionals from across the globe, providing a platform to exchange ideas, strengthen existing collaborations, and explore new opportunities for academic and research partnerships.
