Titu Andreescu was the national coach of USA Olympiad team from 1994-2002, and teaches here in Dallas at . Zuming Feng was the national coach from 2003-2013, and now teaches here in Dallas at St. Mark’s. I covered 2014-2023. While speaking here in Dallas for the day, it occurred to me that if they were also in town, this might be the first time in a while that within a few miles of each other, 30 years were covered.

Titu was the first national coach I got to know, because when I was a student on the team, the IMO was in his home country of Romania. He then brought us to the country a week early for cultural and math exchange. Really opened my eyes to different cultural approaches to math and competitions. The Romanians were extraordinary at math compared to me!
