I came across this photo of a little girl taken in 2022 and thought she looked familiar. After checking, I realised it was one of our students. Fast forward to 2026, and her younger sister is now attending our art classes too.
Her parents first discovered us at Bubs Fair and patiently waited until she was old enough to join.
Over the years, we’ve heard all sorts of things from our students.
Many wish art class could happen every day. Some tell us it’s the best 75 minutes of their week. Some dislike enrichment classes, but say this is the only one they look forward to.
Some have left because of schedule conflicts, only to keep asking their parents when they can come back. Some set KPIs for their parents: to arrive early, or better yet, be the first in class—so they have extra time to draw or craft from our scrap materials. And some have even gotten upset when their parents arrived on time to pick them up because they weren’t quite ready to leave.
Moments like these remind us that what we are building is more than an art class. It’s a space where children feel excited to create, explore, and simply be themselves.
I always joke with parents that the materials in our school must have some sort of magical power over children. 😎

Nigiri, Maki, Tamago, Wasabi, Ikura, Shoyu… and of course, everyone’s favourite character, Onigiri 🍙
Snippets from our first Sushi & Friends holiday workshop. Everyone had so much fun bringing these adorable food-inspired characters to life!
Thankfully, no one was tempted to eat their creations… though a few parents did a double take when they spotted the tuna mayo. 😆
Our second session is happening this Friday, 19 June, and there are only 2 slots left. Sign up via the link in bio! 💛🍙
