🌱For BVPS Staff Bonding Day, our staff took on the task of growing the first β€˜garden’ at our new campus! Aligned to the theme β€œBVPS Staff Garden”, our team of staff creatively and sincerely crafted ceramics pieces that symbolize the care and dedication they wish to give at the new campus, as they would to see a garden flourish. πŸ¦‹πŸŒ»

It was a serene yet poignant sight of everyone focused on creating memories for our future campus while seated in the very space we will soon have to bid farewell to. We look forward to the many inspiring works and acts that our new campus will see as BVPS continues to build memories and ignite dreams wherever we may be! 🏫

P5 Values-in-Action (VIA) Project – Buddy Works 🌟🀝

Our Primary 5 students embarked on the Buddy Works VIA Project, where they learnt to better understand the feelings and needs of preschool children as they prepare for primary school. πŸ«πŸ’›

Through activities such as playing games, guiding the preschoolers around the school and sharing a canteen experience together, our students helped the younger children feel welcomed, comfortable and excited about starting primary school.

Throughout the project, students demonstrated empathy, care and responsibility through their encouraging words and thoughtful actions. They also learnt the importance of building a caring and inclusive community. πŸ’πŸ’–

Together, they discovered that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference! ✨

πŸ† BVPS’s Internal Prize Presentation: Celebrating the Journey, Beyond Recognition! 🌟

At BVPS, excellence isn't just about the trophiesβ€”it’s about the grit, growth, and character forged along the way! Last week, we held our Internal Prize Presentation to celebrate our students who gave their absolute best in their pursuit for excellence πŸ’ͺ

Here is a look at the incredible dedication shown across different domains:

πŸ‘Ÿ Sports: Impressive showings from our Badminton, Basketball, Football, Wushu, Swimming, and Taekwondo athletes, and a special shout out to Netball for representing our school with heart. Our student-athletes pushed their boundaries, proving that true discipline and resilience are built during those grueling training sessions. 🏸⚽πŸ₯‹

🎭 The Performing Arts: From tireless rehearsals to the stage, our Choir, Angklung and Kulintang Ensemble, Chinese, Malay, and Indian Dance groups, along with our courageous EL Drama Club, wove a beautiful tapestry of teamwork and self-expression. πŸŽ΅πŸ’ƒπŸŒŸ

⛑️ Our Red Cross Youth members showcased incredible teamwork, compassion, and a steadfast dedication to serving others, reminding us of the power of empathy. ❀️

🧠 Academic & Language Excellence: Our students stretched their minds and celebrated heritage, showcasing deep intellectual grit at SASMO, Raffles Mathematical Olympiad (RMO), APMOPS, the Tamil Spelling Bee, and Malay Language Competitions! πŸ“βœοΈ

🀝 Character & Leadership (Class Awards): Presenting our Caring Citizens, Self-Directed Learners, and Confident Leaders who anchor our school culture, and big congratulations also to our Prefect's Choice and Model Class Award recipients for championing unity, responsibility, and kindness daily! 🏫🌟

Rankings fade, but the character built and friendships made last a lifetime. To every Bukit Viewan, congratulations on a fruitful semester. Keep shining! πŸ‘

P6 Student-Initiated Project (SIP) – BVPS Heartbeat Project

Our Primary 6 students came together for the P6 Student-Initiated Project (SIP), BVPS Heartbeat Project, a meaningful Values-in-Action (VIA) initiative where they demonstrated care, responsibility and empathy through community-focused activities. 🧑🀝

As part of the project, students used recyclable materials and tools such as 3D printers and 3D pens to create thoughtful and creative craftwork and games, while learning about sustainability and giving back to the community. β™»οΈπŸŽ¨πŸŒ±

The proceeds from the handmade items that were sold went to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (STSPMF), which supports students in need. This year, we raised a total of $5090.70 for STSPMF β€” the highest amount raised to date since our school first started supporting the fund in 2018! πŸ’° πŸŽ‰πŸ‘

Through this experience, students learnt the value of teamwork, compassion and making a positive difference in the lives of others. πŸ’™

πŸŽ΅βž— Math in Motion, Music in Numbers βž—πŸŽ΅

Our 4-session Math Γ— Music Talent Development Programme has come to a meaningful and inspiring close! Throughout the programme, our P4 students discovered how mathematics and music are deeply connected through rhythm, ostinato patterns, melody, pentatonic scales, symmetry, movement, and creative exploration.

Through hands-on musical experiences, students explored mathematical concepts such as fractions, factors, multiples, and patterns in engaging and authentic ways. From forming β€œone whole” using fraction discs, to discovering when musical cycles align, to creating mirror melodies and building chords through musical patterns, students experienced mathematics in ways that were concrete, audible, and memorable. 🎢

Using instruments, percussion, movement, and digital tools such as Song Maker, students experimented, collaborated, and composed while developing creativity, critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills. They not only learnt to recognise patterns in music, but also to explain the mathematical reasoning behind their musical choices.

We are incredibly proud of our students for their enthusiasm, curiosity, collaboration, and willingness to explore new ideas throughout this interdisciplinary journey. Thank you to everyone who supported and made this enriching learning experience possible! ✨
