Our Hougang kids are creating their very own koinobori! 🎏
From paper sketches to a real koinobori, we've been bringing our artwork to life step by step. After painting it with vibrant colours, this week we added the scales and details. Every pattern and design is uniquely created by the kids themselves!

Through The Rainbow Fish story, we began a shared inquiry with the children—slowing down to wonder about sharing, friendship, and belonging.
Instead of one answer, we explored multiple perspectives. Some saw sharing as connection, others felt it depends on what is given and what is kept. These discussions opened ideas around identity, boundaries, and relationships.
This thinking now moves into making.
The children will create clay fish windchimes, each one a personal expression of their ideas through form and material.

Our Hougang Kids 🎏
This week, we added scales, tails, and eyes to our koinobori! The colors and patterns made our koinobori look even more lively and unique. We also painted a fireworks background to create a festive atmosphere and bring the whole artwork to life.

Our Koinobori journey started with simple shapes, careful drawing, and a little imagination — and slowly came alive into vibrant flying carp filled with personality and movement.
Watching the children transform a flat sketch into something that feels so full of life is always the magical part. ✨
