We are proud to celebrate the establishment of the Aileen Wee Professorship in Liver Diseases by NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, honouring Emeritus Professor Aileen Wee from the Department of Pathology at NUS Medicine and National University Hospital.
An internationally recognised authority in hepatobiliary pathology, Prof Wee has shaped clinical practice, research and medical education through her pioneering work in liver cytopathology, transplantation pathology and chronic liver disease over a distinguished career spanning five decades.
Prof Wee shared: โAs a multidisciplinary approach is the way to go, this professorship is not confined to any discipline, and I hope it will benefit scholars who are actively pursuing any aspect of research to uncover some of the many unknowns in the diseased liver for the betterment of patients.โ
Congratulations, Prof Wee, and thank you for inspiring generations of clinicians, researchers and educators in advancing care for patients.
