World is witnessing the historical journey of the Walk for Peace 🌍

October 26 2025 quietly reshaped the meaning of leadership in Fort Worth Texas. From the Huong Dao Vipassana Bhavana Center, Buddhist monks began a 2300 mile pilgrimage on foot toward Washington DC. There were no banners raised and no demands spoken. The choice was deliberate and disciplined. Walk with awareness. Live compassion visibly. Allow presence to become the message. This journey is planned to conclude in February 2026, yet its emotional gravity was born in the stillness of that very first step.

Led by Bhikkhu Pannakara, the monks crossed Texas entirely on foot during the final days of October 2025. As November 2025 unfolded, the Walk for Peace moved through Louisiana and Mississippi, passing highways, small towns, and rural communities. Traffic slowed naturally. Families stepped outside with children watching quietly. Elders folded their hands with respect. Food, water, and places of rest were offered freely, not because they were requested, but because compassion recognized sincerity moving through familiar lives.

December 2025 brought colder air as the journey continued through Alabama and Georgia. Each day demanded long hours of walking supported by physical endurance and deep inner calm. The monks carried no money and never asked for assistance. Every meal and every night of shelter came only through voluntary generosity. These encounters transformed ordinary moments into shared acts of humanity, allowing people to participate in peace through a single, honest gesture.

In January 2026, the Walk for Peace entered South Carolina and North Carolina before continuing into Virginia. Every step followed the ancient Buddhist practice of mindful walking, where breath, posture, and awareness remain fully present. So many odds against me , and they want to intimate me to back down. Several meeting and deliberation had to change my mind , I said no I want to work in Port loko.

They want me to live in fear , fly out the country so I don’t qualify for elections. They want me to step down and find a position suitable for women.

They want to give me a police record so that I don’t qualify to participate in elections. If you have been looking for me for months why didn’t you arrest me on Saturday 4th October . as I publicly declared for a political office?

There are positions in political parties reserved for women , and here comes this young lady with so much audacity.

I have been in Sierra Leone for months , and suddenly days after my declaration I am publicly humiliated.

I am home and fine , I have contacted the police and will show up with my lawyers. I own property in Port loko and not Freetown.

I was not arrested , my house was not searched , I am not on the run , I am a law abiding citizen and will cooperate with Sierra Leone police.

🇲🇼 Peter Mutharika Sworn In as Malawi President.

At age 85, Prof. Arthur Peter Mutharika was sworn in today as Malawi’s President, marking a major political comeback.

He previously served from 2014 to 2020 before losing to Dr. Lazarus Chakwera. In the 2025 election held on September 16, Mutharika won with about 57% of the vote, defeating Chakwera who got around 33%.

The inauguration took place at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre. In his speech, Mutharika vowed to fight corruption, tackle the economic crisis, and attract foreign investment.

Chakwera did not attend the ceremony but his party wished the new government well.
