When teachers, parents, school administration, and the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) collaborate effectively and maintain open, consistent communication, they create a supportive environment that promotes student growth and development. The PTA plays a vital role by fostering strong relationships between families and the school community, organizing events, and advocating for students' needs. This teamwork ensures that everyone is aligned in their goals for the student's education, behavior, and overall well-being.

By working together, sharing insights, and addressing any challenges collectively, they can provide the necessary guidance, encouragement, and resources.

As a result, the student benefits from a cohesive support system, which helps in developing their academic skills, social abilities, and character, ultimately leading to the achievement of positive outcomes.

Teacher: A Role Model for Society

The professional image of a teacher and educator is represented by being an educator and an educational leader who combines academic competence, pedagogical skills, and ethical commitment. This image goes beyond the mere transmission of information to include building students’ personalities, guiding them toward creative and critical thinking, and developing their life skills so that they become active members of society.
This professional image is reflected in several key dimensions:
1. Academic and Practical Competence A deep mastery of the subject matter, the ability to plan lessons effectively, and the use of modern teaching methods and educational technologies that accommodate students’ individual differences.
2. Personal Qualities Demonstrating patience, fairness, integrity, and a professional appearance, in addition to possessing effective communication skills that break down barriers of fear and create a safe, motivating, and supportive learning environment.
3. Continuous Professional Development A constant commitment to self-improvement and staying informed about new developments in educational sciences, teaching methodologies, and modern curricula in order to enhance professional performance.
4. Commitment to Professional Ethics A deep belief in the importance of the educational mission, treating students as one’s own children, and avoiding anything that may undermine the dignity of the teaching profession or the teacher’s educational responsibilities.

Educational Objective
An educational objective is the goal or purpose that the educational system or teacher seeks to achieve by bringing about a desirable change in the learner’s behavior. This change includes three main domains:
1. Cognitive domain: acquiring knowledge and information.
2. Psychomotor domain: developing practical and motor skills.
3. Affective domain: shaping values, attitudes, and feelings.
To achieve comprehensive understanding, educational objectives are classified according to their level and scope into several types:
1. Educational Aims (General Goals)
Description: Broad, comprehensive, and long-term objectives that reflect the philosophy of society as a whole.
Scope of Achievement: They require a long period of time and may extend throughout an entire educational stage or the whole educational process.
Examples:
>Preparing good citizens.
>Developing social responsibility.
>Building an integrated personality.
2. Instructional Objectives
Description: Objectives that are less general and more specific than educational aims, often related to a particular subject or grade level.
Scope of Achievement: Achieved during a semester or an academic year.
Examples:
>Equipping students with basic Arabic language skills.
>Developing logical thinking abilities.
3. Behavioral (Operational) Objectives
Description: Highly specific objectives that are observable and measurable.
Scope of Achievement: Short-term objectives that can be achieved by the end of a lesson or class period.
Examples:
>The student will be able to list the first three pillars of Islam clearly.”
>The student will be able to solve a first-degree equation.”
Why Do We Define Educational Objectives?
Educational objectives are the cornerstone of the teaching-learning process and play a vital role in:
1.Guiding the Teacher
They help teachers select appropriate teaching methods and learning activities.
2.Curriculum Development
They provide a solid foundation for designing and organizing educational content.
3. Assessment and Evaluation
They make it possible to measure the effectiveness of educational programs and determine whether students have achieved the intended learning outcomes.

📚 The Difference Between Measurement, Evaluation, and Assessment in Education
⚖️ Among the concepts that are often confused in education are measurement, evaluation, and assessment. Although they are closely related, each has its own meaning and function.
📏 First: Measurement
Measurement is the process of collecting quantitative data and determining a learner’s level of performance using numbers or scores.
📌 Example: A student scores 15/20 on a mathematics test.
✔️ Focuses only on numbers and results.
✔️ Answers the question: “How much did the learner achieve?”
📊 Second: Evaluation
Evaluation is the process of making a judgment about measurement results by analyzing and interpreting them according to specific criteria.
📌 Example: Considering a score of 15/20 as a good result that indicates the student has mastered most of the intended learning outcomes.
✔️ Relies on measurement results.
✔️ Answers the question: “What is the value or significance of this result?”
🔄 Third: Assessment
Assessment is a comprehensive process aimed at identifying strengths and weaknesses and making decisions to improve learning and performance.
📌 Example: After analyzing students’ results, the teacher decides to organize remedial lessons to address identified learning difficulties.
✔️ Goes beyond making judgments to taking corrective or developmental actions.
✔️ Answers the question: “What should we do to improve the situation?”
📚 Relationship Among the Three Concepts
Measurement ➡️ Evaluation ➡️ Assessment
📏 Measure results
📊 Evaluate results
🔄 Assess results and improve them
📘 Summary
✔️ Measurement = Numbers and scores.
✔️ Evaluation = Judgment of results.
✔️ Assessment = Improvement and development based on results.
✔️ Assessment is the broadest concept because it includes both measurement and evaluation.

EFFECTIVE ASSESSMENT METHODS EVERY TEACHER SHOULD KNOW

Assessment is more than giving tests and recording scores.

Good assessment helps teachers understand:

- What students have learned
- Areas students are struggling with
- Whether teaching methods are effective
- What improvements are needed

Assessment should help learning, not only measure performance.

Here are effective assessment methods teachers can use in the classroom:

1. Oral Assessment

Asking students questions during lessons helps teachers quickly check understanding.

Oral assessment can:

- Improve participation
- Build confidence
- Reveal learning gaps immediately
- Keep students attentive

Simple classroom questions can provide valuable feedback.

2. Class Activities

Practical class activities help students apply what they have learned.

Examples include:

- Group work
- Classroom exercises
- Problem-solving tasks
- Practical demonstrations
- Educational games

Activities make learning more interactive.

3. Written Tests

Written assessments help evaluate:

- Understanding
- Memory
- Writing ability
- Application of knowledge

Tests should be:

- Clear
- Fair
- Relevant to lessons taught
- Appropriate for students’ level

Assessment should match learning objectives.

4. Observation

Teachers learn a lot by observing students during lessons.

Observation helps identify:

- Participation levels
- Behavioral patterns
- Confidence
- Learning difficulties
- Social interaction

Observation is especially useful for younger learners.

5. Assignments and Homework

Assignments help reinforce learning outside the classroom.

Good assignments should:

- Be meaningful
- Match students’ ability levels
- Encourage thinking and practice
- Avoid unnecessary overload

Homework should support learning, not frustrate students.

6. Project-Based Assessment

Projects allow students to apply learning creatively.

Projects can improve:

- Research skills
- Teamwork
- Creativity
- Presentation skills
- Critical thinking

Practical learning often improves understanding.

7. Continuous Assessment

Assessment should not happen only during examinations.

Continuous assessment helps teachers monitor student progress regularly through:

- Quizzes
- Class participation
- Assignments
- Projects
- Practical activities

Regular assessment gives a fuller picture of student performance.

8. Self-Assessment

Students should also learn to evaluate themselves.

Teachers can encourage students to reflect on:

- Their strengths
- Areas they need to improve
- Learning habits
- Effort and participation

Self-awareness encourages responsibility.

9. Provide Constructive Feedback

Assessment is incomplete without feedback.

Good feedback should:

- Encourage improvement
- Identify mistakes clearly
- Offer guidance
- Build confidence

Students learn better when feedback is helpful, not discouraging.

10. Avoid Using Assessment to Intimidate Students

Assessment should help learning, not create fear.

When students become overly afraid of mistakes or tests, learning can suffer.

Teachers should create an environment where assessment supports growth and improvement.

Effective assessment helps both teachers and students grow.

A teacher who assesses properly can teach more effectively because they understand students’ needs better.
