China hands over DNA machine, digital forensic lab to police

The South Sudan National Police Service has received a digital forensic laboratory, advanced forensic equipment, and a DNA analysis machine from the Government of China in a move aimed at strengthening criminal investigations.

The Chinese Embassy in Juba said the facility was handed over as part of ongoing cooperation between China and South Sudan in the fields of security and institutional development.

According to the embassy, the new laboratory will enhance the police service's capacity to conduct digital forensic examinations, analyze evidence, and support criminal investigations using modern scientific methods, including DNA testing.

The equipment is expected to enhance law enforcement agencies' ability to investigate crimes, identify suspects, and process digital evidence more efficiently.
