P.E. 🏃♂️🌈
In Kindergarten 1 PE, students worked alongside their homeroom teachers to develop confidence, coordination, and participation through a variety of physical activities 🌟🏃. We began with stretching exercises and discussed why warming up is important before engaging in physical activity. Students then completed an obstacle course designed to reinforce colours, listening skills, and vocabulary through TPR, movement, and didactic instruction. Children took turns supporting and encouraging one another as they completed each challenge. To finish the lesson on a fun and musical note, we enjoyed Ring a Ring o’ Roses and The Hokey Pokey. Students demonstrated fantastic engagement, confidence, and perseverance throughout the session. Great work today, K1 athletes! 😊

MFF: International Japanese Activity Fair – Kanji ✍️
Today, the children explored the fascinating world of Japanese writing through a Kanji activity. They practised tracing and decorating a selection of Japanese characters while learning about the meanings behind each symbol. The students showed great concentration as they carefully followed the character strokes and demonstrated curiosity when discussing the different meanings. This activity provided a wonderful opportunity to introduce language, culture, and mark-making in an engaging and accessible way.

MFF: International Japanese Activity Fair – Samurai Swords ⚔️
Today, the children designed and created their own samurai swords using paper and cardboard materials before learning a series of simple choreographed movements inspired by traditional Japanese warriors. The students demonstrated excellent imagination and self-control as they practised their poses and sequences safely with their peers. It was fantastic to see their confidence grow as they explored movement, coordination, and an exciting aspect of Japanese history and culture.
