Cooking Class: พล่ากุ้งของน้องวิกกี้ recipe below ⬇️⬇️ .touzet #พล่ากุ้ง "Pla Goong" is a classic Thai spicy shrimp salad beloved for its bold flavors and fragrant herbs. While this version adapts the traditional recipe by cooking the shrimp before mixing, it still delivers the perfect balance of sweet, spicy, sour, salty, and aromatic notes that make Thai cuisine so irresistible. One bite, and you’ll understand why this dish remains a favorite among Thai food lovers around the world.
Spicy Thai Shrimp Salad (Pla Goong)
Ingredients:
•10 fresh shrimp, deveined and butterflied
•1 stalk lemongrass, thinly sliced
•4 shallots, thinly sliced
•3 kaffir lime leaves, finely sliced
•1 red spur chili, thinly sliced
•4 bird’s eye chilies, thinly sliced
•1½ tsp fish sauce
•2 tbsp lime juice
•1 tsp palm sugar
•1 tbsp Thai chili paste (Nam Prik Pao)
•Fresh mint leaves, for garnish
•1 tbsp toasted rice powder, an optional for garnish
Instructions
1. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the shrimp and cook just until they turn pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
Tip: Avoid overcooking the shrimp, as they can become tough and rubbery.
2. In a mixing bowl, combine the fish sauce, lime juice, palm sugar, and Thai chili paste. Stir until well blended.
3. Add the cooked shrimp, lemongrass, shallots, kaffir lime leaves, and bird’s eye chilies. Toss gently until everything is evenly coated with the dressing.
4. Transfer to a serving plate. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and sliced red spur chili. Serve immediately.
