We’re delighted to share highlights from our recent English language training delivered for TradeInvest Timor-Leste, with two groups completing Elementary 1 and Pre-Intermediate 1 level training.

Across both groups, participants focused on practical workplace communication, building confidence in speaking, and strengthening core skills for everyday professional contexts. It has been incredibly rewarding to see such strong engagement and clear progress throughout the course.

We’re delighted to celebrate the completion of our Defence Cooperation Programme (DCP) English language training delivered to DCP staff, and to share that last Friday we held the graduation ceremony where participants received their certificates.

Across the groups, learners have built practical, workplace focused communication skills, with a strong emphasis on speaking and listening confidence from Elementary 1 through to Elementary 3. A special congratulations to Group A, where 13 of 15 participants met LELI’s course requirements, with the majority achieving Credit or Distinction.

We’re incredibly happy to continue this work with DCP and to support professional growth through consistent, high quality language training.

LELI is proud to recognise the completion of our specialised English for Specific Purposes (ESP) programme delivered with the US Embassy Political & Economics team. Over 60 hours at B1 to B2 level, participants strengthened the practical English skills needed for their day to day work, including summarising longer texts, report writing aligned to US Embassy guidelines, workplace presentations, and written accuracy and professional vocabulary. 

A big THANKS to the U.S. Embassy - Dili, Timor-Leste team for your commitment and positive energy throughout the course, and to our incredible teachers for delivering a programme shaped carefully around real workplace needs and authentic materials.

LELI is incredibly proud to share this update from the European Union in Timor-Leste on English language training delivered by LELI for civil servants from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Through this EU and International Trade Centre supported initiative, two groups at Elementary 1 and Elementary 2 are strengthening the practical English foundations needed for confident participation in ASEAN and wider regional engagement. Step by step, this is proficiency building that creates real opportunities and supports Timor-Leste’s continued development.

A huge congratulations to the 19 Directors-General and National Directors who have completed the English Language Training for ASEAN Accession (ELTAA) course delivered by LELI. It's great to see senior officials strengthening their confidence and practical communication skills to represent Timor-Leste effectively in ASEAN forums.

We are proud to be delivering the English Language Training for ASEAN Accession (ELTAA) program as it begins this week. Congratulations to the 173 selected civil servants for reaching this important milestone, and thank you to the Australian Embassy in Timor-Leste, PROSIVU, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation’s Directorate-General for ASEAN Affairs (MNEC-DGAA), and the Civil Service Commission (CSC) for the strong partnership behind this initiative.
