ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
The foundation was established in April of 2012 by Michael Medoth and was named as “OSILIGI”…….Osiligi is a Maasai originated word which means HOPE.
The establishment of the Foundation that could bring hope and happiness to the poor children, orphans,vulnerables and the children who are living in difficult environment was burning desire of Michael and his beloved wife Hedaya. Also to ensure that, the children receives human parental care, essentially basics like food, shelter, clothes, education and everything to support them.
Initially, Osiligi started with two (2) children (Jonhson and Shedrack) in Michael’s own house and later on, Osiligi got a house with three bedrooms which accommodates nine (9) children.
On 2013 the construction of a new house started, the more bigger house with nine (9) bedrooms, through the help from Hidden Heart Foundation from USA. With all difficulties and challenges, several ups and downs the construction could not be completed on time.There were several stops and progress of construction whenever challenge came and sorted out, so the construction had to stop for sometimes due to difficulties but so far so good the house was completed with the physical help and financial help from volunteers all over.
We are trying our best to take care of our kids, providing a home full of love, care, and compassion. We teach them good moral and maximum spiritual care. Apart from school programs we also have evening programs within the Foundation. We conduct evening tuitions for some subjects like Computer subject and mathematics to them all who have started school, and we also conduct evening devotion everyday, this is to shape them spiritually. We also have celebrations, different learning programs (life skills and nutritional skills), physical exercises programs, sports and games within the Foundation.
All these programs we believe to be helpful for their better health, academic perfomance,maintainance of their talents and keeping them happy etc…. They are real feel at home and they are on their way becoming responsible citizens, ready to contribute to their local communities in reproductive activities.
