JOSHUA SCHOOL ARUSHA

In 1988, Alan and Lynda Stephenson, two Kiwis, set off for Tanzania with the vision to develop and train nationals to become leaders with integrity in a corrupt society. They have set up a teachers training college and now two schools. Joshua School Arusha is their second school. The education received there is very different from a government school. A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Friends from New Zealand!

We are beyond grateful for the generous donation of textbooks from our dear friends James, Leanie, Mary, and Sharon. Your kindness is making a significant impact on our students' education, providing them with valuable resources to further their learning.

Seeing the smiles on our students' faces as they hold these new books fills our hearts with joy. These textbooks will not only enhance their knowledge but also inspire them to dream bigger and achieve greater heights.

Thank you for believing in our mission and for your unwavering support. Together, we are shaping a brighter future for our students!

At Joshua School Arusha we've had a very blessed first quarter of the year. We're now coming to the end of a short Easter break. We spent a day preparing for a fresh and exciting start to another quarter of the year.

We're looking forward to another great moment with our students.

Your support and prayers are really appreciated!

At Joshua School Arusha, education goes beyond textbooks and exams. The school follows a holistic approach, nurturing students' intellectual, physical, emotional, and social well-being. The curriculum is designed to promote critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving skills, and a lifelong love for learning. Students are encouraged to explore their interests and talents through a wide range of extracurricular activities.

Our workshop team are delighted to share their skills with the four SEN students who are needing to develop some vocational skills that we hope will help them thrive in the big wide world one day. The two boys and two girls are working together for now in the carpentry workshop, but we’re planning to start on hospitality-related skills soon.

We are going for a one-month break! A very good opportunity for kids to spend longer time with their families. We are looking forward to another successful term at the beginning of July. Thanks for your help and sponsorship!

One of the latest initiatives with our older SEN students is for them to learn some carpentry skills in our TJF workshop . Each Thursday four of our students walk across from school and spend 2 hours learning from Aloyce and Philemon, our carpenters. There is a lot of positive energy in that workshop as the kids learn to hammer, saw, measure and create.

Today is the last day for our amazing teacher Gay Carpenter (volunteer) from New Zealand to be with us at The Joshua Foundation.
She has been volunteering with us for 3 months. It has been an honour to have her in our Joshua School Arusha. She was teaching pre-unit one kids with three other teachers. (Really It's not just been about giving out at Joshua, but it’s also been about receiving, she said)
Our JSA staff and students love you so much.
She participated in the Third Day Rising Convention held in the newly completed Hope Centre, hearing amazing teachings about our place as “kings and queens” in God’s kingdom here on earth. She also enjoyed meeting on Sunday mornings in Alan and Lynda’s home, and learning what the blood of Jesus has achieved for us. We hope you go home full and overflowing with many blessings.
