RE: OFC 100 TEST – Entry Qualifications, Basic Conditions, Regulations &
Procedures for Registration

Dear Prospective applicants

The OFC 100 admission was introduced by the university as an entry exam into foundation course for applicants who lacks direct entry requirements to be enrolled into foundation course of OUT. On passing it, a respective candidate directly qualifies for admission in foundation course in the Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) of the university.

The OUT is therefore pleased to invites applications to qualified individuals to register this exam; it is also a fantastic opportunity to form six leavers who have just received their national exams results but could not get acceptable GPAs to guarantee them a place for further education (Bachelor, diploma or certificate courses); so we are highly encourage
such students to apply.

a) The Entry Qualifications

Applicant must have AT LEAST FOUR PASSEs or AT LEAST 0.6 GPA at
‘O’ LEVEL. Or less than 4 passes at O level plus an NVA level III.
In addition to the above, the applicant must have either of the following:
o Applicant must have sat for, but failed ,‘A’ Level examination; or
o Applicant must have a recognized certificate obtained after attending a professional course of duration of at least six months related to the degree programme the applicant is intending to pursue

(b) Application Mode: The application will be as follows:
Applicants are required to pay the examination fee of TShs. 30,000/= through the following bank details: NBC Bank, Corporate Branch Account Number 011103002558 OR NMB, Bank House Account Number 2011100105.
Applicant should remember to indicate his/her FULLNAME and OFC 100 (the code of the exam) in the Bank slip and submit it to the Director of Regional Centre (DRC) for endorsement.
Upon verification by DRC, applicant shall be given an Applicant Reference Number (ARN) and PID Code which are required to make ONLINE EXAM Registration.

(c) Registration Mode: The registration for OFC 100 (OFC Admission Test) shall beonline as follows:
First, the applicant must possess ARN number and PID Code collected from DRC.
Then, applicant is required to open OUT WEBSITE at http://www.out.ac.tz orDES at http://des.out.ac.tz to make online registration.
Applicant is required to provide only correct information as they appear in the certificates, the ARN number and PID code given by the DRC. Failure to abide with this condition shall automatically disqualify the applicant.
Upon exam registration, a successful applicant will be provided with
Examination Hall Ticket (EHT) that should be attached with copies of evidence of examination fee payment and submitted by the student to the
Director of the respective Regional Centre for EHT endorsement and approval
In the examination day, applicant must come with any recognized Identity Card and approved EHT which must be shown and authenticated before entering the examination hall.

(d) Date, Time and Venue for OFC Admission Test
Test length: 2-Hours
Venue: the qualifying test shall take place at all OUT Examination Centres
Date: Friday, SEPTEMBER 11, 2015
Time: from 08:30 hrs to 10:30 hrs

EXAMINATION FORMAT
The paper shall be divided into THREE PARTS.

(a) Mathematics
This section assesses problem-solving ability, focusing on basic concepts of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data analysis. Calculators, Logarithm Tables and Slide Rulers are permitted

(b) General Knowledge
This section evaluates candidate’s ability to analyze, evaluate and synthesize general knowledge information including that of the Open and distance learning.

(c) English Language
The English Language section contains items that examine the knowledge of important structural and grammatical elements of standard written English.

REGISTRATIONS FOR ON DEMAND EXAMINATIONS (ODEX) SEPTEMBER SESSION
2015
The Special Main Timed Tests (S-MTT) and Annual/Supplementary Examinations (AE) under ODEX
system are expected to be conducted from 31st August 2015 to 11th of September 2015 as indicated in
the respective ODEX S-MTT/AE Timetables. Therefore, students are hereby informed that the ODEX
registrations for 2015 Session shall commence on 1st August 2015 and end on 25th August 2015.
