𝐌𝐫. 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐀. 𝐓𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐥𝐢 (centre), an undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Science with Education, majoring in Physics and Chemistry in the 𝘍𝘢𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘚𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 at Dar es Salaam University College of Education (𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐄), poses for a group photograph after receiving a trophy and a dummy cheque from 𝐂𝐎𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐂𝐇 in recognition of winning second place in the Best Undergraduate Innovation Project category during the closing ceremony of the 𝐔𝐃𝐒𝐌 11th Research and Innovation Week. His award-winning project, titled Computational Investigation of Xanomeline Analogues Targeting 𝐦𝐀𝐂𝐡𝐑 𝐌𝟏 for 𝘚𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘻𝘰𝘱𝘩𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘢 Treatments, was recognized for its innovative contribution to pharmaceutical and mental health research.

This announcement informs Dar es Salaam University College of Education and the public that, under the authority granted by Article 11(1) of the University of Dar es Salaam Charter read together with Rule 8(1) and (2) of the University of Dar es Salaam Rules, 2007, and pursuant to Article 13 of the Dar es Salaam University College of Education Charter 2010, and Rule 8 of the Dar es Salaam University College of Education Rules 2010, the Chancellor of the University of Dar es Salaam, H.E. Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, has appointed Prof. David Sylvester Kacholi as Acting Deputy Principal (Academic, Research and Consultancy) of Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) with effect from 1st June 2026.

Uongozi wa Chuo Kishiriki cha Elimu Dar es Salaam (DUCE) unapenda kuufahamisha umma, wanafunzi, wafanyakazi, na wadau wote kuwa kumekuwa na taarifa potofu zinazosambaa kwenye mitandao ya kijamii na baadhi ya vyombo vya habari zikidai kuwa kuna wanafunzi wa DUCE waliofukuzwa na kuchaniwa mitihani yao kwa sababu ya kutolipa ada.

Chuo kinapenda kutoa ufafanuzi ufuatao:

Taarifa hizo si za kweli. Majaribio na mitihani yote imefanyika kwa kufuata kanuni na taratibu zote za mitihani za Chuo Kikuu cha Dar es Salaam. Hakukuwa na tukio lolote la wanafunzi kuchaniwa mitihani au majaribio wala kufukuzwa.

Tunatoa wito kwa wanafunzi, wazazi na umma kwa ujumla kupuuza taarifa hizo za upotoshaji zinazosambazwa zenye lengo la kuzua taharuki.

DAY TWO OF UDSM RIW 2026 KICKS OFF AT DUCE WITH AI AND RESEARCH POLICY DISCUSSIONS

Day Two of the 11th UDSM Research and Innovation Week (RIW) 2026 continues today at the New Lecture Theatre grounds of Dar es Salaam University College of Education.

The session features presentations by Dr. Hezron Onditi on Teacher Well-being in Tanzania: Reflection on Policy and Gaps and Dr. Mahadia Tunga on Artificial Intelligence in Research and Publications: Building an Ethical Approach.

The public is also invited to visit the research and innovation products exhibitions taking place at the pavilion grounds. Karibuni sana kujionea bunifu, tafiti na mawazo mapya yanayoleta maendeleo katika jamii.

In her opening remarks during the 11th University of Dar es Salaam Research and Innovation Week 2026 held at the New Lecture Theatre B (NLTB) of Dar es Salaam University College of Education, the Guest of Honour, Dr. Aneth Komba, Director General of the Tanzania Institute of Education, applauded DUCE for its continued commitment to promoting a vibrant culture of research and innovation aimed at addressing contemporary national and global challenges.

Acting Principal Prof. Amani Lusekelo reaffirmed the College’s commitment to strengthening research capacity, innovation, and community engagement during the opening ceremony of the 11th University of Dar es Salaam Research and Innovation Week (UDSM RIW) 2026 held at the New Lecture Theatre B (NLTB) of Dar es Salaam University College of Education.

Speaking before inviting the Guest of Honour, Prof. Lusekelo emphasized the importance of empowering young researchers and students to actively contribute to national development through innovation-driven research. He noted that fostering a strong research culture among students and academics remains a key priority for the College in addressing societal challenges and advancing sustainable development.
