The season finale we all needed! 🐾💙

Our students and teachers came together for the Students v Teachers Basketball and Volleyball Games, and the atmosphere was everything we love about PSI.

A huge thank you to everyone who played, supported from the stands, helped organise, and brought such wonderful energy to the day. To our teachers — you continue to be brilliant role models for our Panthers, both in the classroom and on the court.

And yes… the teachers won. Naturally. 😉

Official Results:

🏐 Volleyball: Teachers v Students — 2:1

Now it is time to pack for the summer holidays.

Our PHE Department is already working on the new programme for athletics, aquatics, and co-curricular activities — and we cannot wait to see our Panthers back in action.

Our students have spoken — and they had a lot to say. 💙😋

Over the past weeks, the PSI cafeteria feedback boards have become a joyful gallery of student voices: thank-yous, drawings, food reviews, and some very determined requests for pizza, sushi, pelmeni and ice cream.

From “Best food ever!” to “Thank you, magic team!” and the iconic “Borshch is power. Borshch is best!”, these little messages remind us that food is never just food in a school. It is care, comfort, energy, and a moment of belonging in the middle of a busy day.

A heartfelt thank you to our catering partners, M’Andryk Food - кейтеринг, for feeding our students with such warmth and creativity.

We are excited for the next school year and cannot wait to see the new menu!

We are pleased to introduce David Oliver, who will be joining Pechersk School International as a Science Teacher (Head of Department) in the 2026-2027 school year. 🫰

David joins us from Erbil, Iraq, bringing more than 10 years of experience in science education, curriculum development and instructional leadership.

“I look forward to the chance to inspire students and demonstrate the profound importance of science.”

For David, teaching in Ukraine carries meaning beyond the curriculum. It is about helping students feel stability, curiosity and care in a time when education matters deeply.

“Teaching in Ukraine involves restoring a sense of stability for students, sharing my practical scientific background to spark their curiosity, and contributing to the vital effort of healing Ukrainian society from the impacts of the war.”

David has lived and worked in Ireland, Saudi Arabia, the United States and Northern Iraq’s Kurdistan region, and has visited over 40 countries. He brings a global perspective, a strong sense of service, and a deep belief in the power of relationships.

“Establishing meaningful relationships with students and their families is vital to supporting a student’s development as both an academic and an individual.”

Welcome to PSI, David. We are delighted to welcome you to our community next school year!

Warning: this post may cause spontaneous applause. 👏✨

We are sharing more photos from Broadway Our Way, because one post simply wasn’t enough.

What a beautiful step forward for musical theatre at PSI. 💙

Broadway, but our way. 🎭✨

Our students brought Broadway Our Way to the PSI stage — a playful twist on famous musical shows, including Wonka, Annie, The Wizard of Oz, and Cats.

At the heart of the performance was a simple idea: to give every student a chance to step on stage, try something new, and have fun.

This was also a meaningful milestone for PSI — our first musical production of this size since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, and a joyful step in the revival and growth of the arts at our school.

Bravo to our Panthers, and heartfelt thanks to our Music Teacher, Vera Tymochko, and Drama Teacher, Olga Pinaieva, for bringing this beautiful moment to life. 💙

We are a school that believes learning also happens when children run, laugh, play, and cheer each other on. ☀️

Our PYP Sports Day was full of energy, movement, and the kind of smiles that can light up the sky.

There were playful relays and parachute games, dance corners, sponge challenges, bubbles, and plenty of Panther spirit. In other words, the perfect recipe for a joyful morning together.

We want to thank our PHE team for the planning, care, and enthusiasm that made the day such a success, and to all team members who helped bring the fun to life. 💙

Today, our Students-to-Heroes CAS Team packed and sent clothes generously donated by the PSI community. 🫰

Thanks to this meaningful student-led initiative, two large boxes of clothing were sent to Dnipro Hospital, supporting those receiving care there. One additional box was sent to a rehabilitation centre for wounded soldiers from the Khortytsia Brigade.

This follows another important act of service. After our successful book drive in March, PSI received requests from two libraries located not far from the front line, both of which had been damaged during attacks on Ukraine. 🙏

In response, the Students-to-Heroes CAS Team prepared and sent two boxes of books in Ukrainian and English to libraries in the Rivne and Volyn regions.

Thank you to all Panthers who answered the call with kindness and care. And bravo to our students for showing up, taking action, and supporting those in need.

Summer holidays are almost here! 🌻

To celebrate the end of PSI’s 30th school year, we look forward to closing the year together as a community on Friday, 19 June.

Our Ukrainian school had the joy of welcoming Тіна Кароль, one of Ukraine’s most beloved artists, for a warm and memorable visit. 💙

We are deeply grateful to Tina for her time, kindness, and genuine warmth with our students and staff. Together, we had the chance to sing along, share smiles, and create a moment that will stay with our community for a long time.

This visit was also especially meaningful because it helped make the dream of one of our students come true — a devoted Tina Karol fan who had the unforgettable opportunity to meet her in person and share a song.

Reflecting on her visit, Tina shared:

“Children are the future of Ukraine. A generation that will shape, protect, and inspire this country with their talent, kindness, and courage.

I’m grateful for moments like this — for the music, the smiles, and the genuine connection we shared together.

Thank you, Pechersk School International, for such a warm welcome.”

As an international school in Ukraine, PSI is delighted to welcome prominent Ukrainian voices, artists, and changemakers who inspire our students, connect us to the cultural life of our country, and remind us of the power of music, hope, and belonging.

Thank you, Tina Karol, for bringing light, warmth, and song to PSI Kyiv! ✨
