A total of 1,563 students are graduating from the Law Development Centre (LDC) in Kampala today, as the institution holds its 53rd graduation ceremony.

Among the graduating class are familiar faces, including Vision Group journalist Farooq Kasule and Uganda’s Female Youth MP, Mercy Kanyesigye, both stepping out into the legal profession alongside their public roles.

For LDC, the milestone marks another chapter in producing the country’s next generation of advocates, magistrates, and legal minds.

Hannah Karema Tumukunde, who contested for Makerere’s 92nd Guild presidency, has landed an internship at the Parliament of Uganda, trading manifestos for motions, and rallies for the real chambers of legislation.

She didn’t win the guild seat. But it looks like the politics never left her.
