Day 3 of Aviation Summer Camp

Our campers had an exciting hands-on learning experience with guest speaker Gordon Carlson, who introduced them to the world of aircraft maintenance, the many career opportunities within the aviation industry, and the importance of safety and teamwork when working on aircraft.

Throughout the day, campers participated in engaging activities that gave them a glimpse into the skills and responsibilities of aviation maintenance professionals, including Riveting Activity, Weight & Balance Exercise, Safety Wire Demonstration.

Campers also learned about training and educational pathways through the Institute of Maintenance, helping them explore future careers in aviation and aerospace.

A special thank you to Gordon Carlson for sharing his expertise, inspiring our students, and providing a hands-on look at what it takes to keep aircraft safe and ready for flight! ✈️

Day 2 of Camp took flight with our Rocket Challenge!

Our campers learned about career pathways in aviation, project management, and airport operations while connecting their Rocket Challenge experience to real-world aerospace and transportation careers. They also had the opportunity to hear from Project Manager LaBreonna Hodges, who shared valuable insights about the aviation industry and the many career opportunities within the field. 🚀✈️

Day 1 of Aviation Summer Camp!

Day 1 was an exciting introduction to our aerospace and flight-themed program! Students were welcomed, reviewed campus information and expectations, and got to know one another through fun icebreaker activities. We explored the science of buoyancy with a hands-on demonstration, learned about the Montgolfier Brothers and the history of hot air balloons, and then put that knowledge into action by building our own hot air balloons. Early finishers enjoyed some airplane spotting outside before we wrapped up the day with an introduction to our upcoming rocket challenge. A great start to a week of discovery, creativity, and flight! ✈️

At Rising Aviation High School, students have opportunities to pursue their passion for aviation while building the skills and experience that help prepare them for the future.
