Our building just completed a Cultural Culinary Curriculum with a goal of encouraging students to explore diverse cultures through food. As part of the project, students were invited to sample North African cuisine - rice, chicken and vegetables - thanks to an Albany County Improvement Initiative Grant.

Red, white, and blue filled our performing arts center on Friday!
The ceremony opened with a presentation of the colors by the Albany High School Color Guard and then first grade shared what they learned about the history of Old Glory, and other symbols of the U.S.A.
Students also led loved ones in the Pledge of Allegiance and performed two patriotic songs.
Thank you to all who came together to celebrate the Stars and Stripes with us!

Throughout the school year, our PK students have shown a strong interest in firefighters, fire trucks and emergency services. Last week's shortened week was the perfect opportunity to explore community helpers, with a special focus on firefighters.
Students learned about the important role firefighters play in keeping our communities safe, fire safety practices, the equipment and protective gear firefighters use and the different parts of a fire engine.
The week culminated with a special visit from the Albany Fire Department, where students had the opportunity to explore a fire truck up close, learn from real firefighters and ask questions about their important work.
Thank you to the Albany Fire Department for helping bring this engaging and meaningful learning experience to life!
