In its three years of programming, NISN Diné Bizaad Bee Na'nitin Yíhooł'aah Mentor + Apprentice Program has brought quality professional development and licensure attainment to Diné communities through its 520 Native American Language & Culture Certification. We are grateful for the leadership of Dr. Geneva Becenti, her team at NISN, and the contractors and teachers that worked to bring Diné language and culture to a myriad of communities in the last years.
As of June 30, 2026, the Diné Bizaad Bee Na'nitin Yíhooł'aah Mentor + Apprentice Program will cease operating under NISN because our New Mexico Public Education Department sole source contract ends. This contract has funded the program since its inception. NISN is excited that Dr. Geneva Becenti will continue the work that Diné Bizaad Bee Na'nitin Yíhooł'aah Mentor + Apprentice Program started as it continues on its work with a new fiscal sponsor.
Sincerely,
NACA INSPIRED SCHOOLS NETWORK

✨📚 Former NativeLit students and young professionals, Paloma Lopez and Olivia Martinez, and Agalisiga Mackey, Cherokee-language educator and performer, share how they have been impacted by NativeLit curriculum in their experiences as educators and creators in various artistic mediums in their home communities. Paloma will share how NativeLit continues to influence her as both an early childhood educator and author of an award-winning picture book. Olivia, a land-based learning educator, will share how NativeLit has impacted her work outside of a traditional classroom setting, and the connection of place to storytelling. Finally, Agalisiga, introduced to NativeLit later in his adult life, shares how it relates to his work as a songwriter, performer, and Indigenous-language advocate. Their presentation will include time for questions at the end. 📚✨
