Congratulations to Mabel Bova, June’s Student of the Month!! 👏🏻

Mabel is an exceptional voice student here at Rock 101! She loves working with her instructor, Adam Hooks as he encourages not only great vocal technique and practice, but also her passion for rock music and different artists that she really enjoys!

Mabel is not only an individual student at Rock 101, but also a member of Band League, a program that allows her to continue her focus on technique as well as stage presence and collaboration with other musicians! She enjoys Band League as she feels it provides her with the opportunity to express herself as well as practice in a different setting.

Adam has shared that Mabel ALWAYS shows up with enthusiasm and ready to get to work learning new skills. She is an incredible member of our Rock 101 community!

We are beyond proud and blown away by Myriad and Pedestrians for their fantastic performances on Friday on the main stage at Revel‼️👏🏻 We want to give a warm shout out to 98.5 and Revel for crafting an incredible and welcoming event not only for the performing bands but also for other students from Band League as well as everyone who came to support! This marks the official wrap to our Band League 2026 Spring Season 🤘🔥

Our Golden Vinyl winners Pedestrians and Myriad rocked their radio interviews in preparation for 98.5 Retro-Revolution on May 30th 🎸 We can’t wait to see them perform on the main stage at Revel tomorrow!!

A few of our Band League bands performed for Third Thursday: Focus on Youth at the Albuquerque Museum! Thank you Abq Museum for having us and Mayor Tim Keller for sticking around to hear the bands play! Bands Checkmate, Myriad, Outlet and Honeydew and the Beakers rocked the night ‼️🎸

Congrats to our May Student of the Month, Rowan Mortensen!

This adventurous and optimistic drum student loves learning new patterns on the drum. His enthusiasm for lessons is off the charts. Says his teacher, Sharon: "Rowan is excited about learning to play drums! He is eager to learn. Whenever he gets a rhythm or groove, I see his excitement which is the best reaction a teacher can receive!”

When he is not drumming, you will most likely find him building model rockets at home. He also takes gymnastics, is learning photography, and enjoys mountain biking. How lucky we are to have him as part of our Rock 101 community!
