Eid Mubarak to all who observe! Eid al-Adha, or the “Feast of Sacrifice,” is the second of two main holidays celebrated in Islam. Muslims believe that Eid al-Adha signifies the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim, known as Abraham in Christianity and Judaism, to sacrifice his son, Ismail, as ordered by Allah. It focuses on sacrifice, the pilgrimage to Mecca and giving to those less fortunate.

Today we honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, the fallen soldiers of American wars.

All schools and offices will be closed on Monday, May 25, for the Memorial Day holiday. | Tuesday, May 26, is a teacher workday. There is no school for students. | All schools and offices will be closed on Wednesday, May 27, for Eid al-Adha.

celebrates National Bike and Roll to School Day! Even our Fort Hunt bus riders will get to participate once in the neighborhood. Students are encouraged to walk/ride/roll to school this Wednesday, May 6th! 🦊

April Statewide Election: No School for Students

There will be no school for students on Tuesday, April 21, for the Virginia statewide election. Student activities, athletic practices, and events may proceed as scheduled.

FCPS will offer lunch and a snack at no cost to children aged 18 and under on Tuesday, April 21, at participating schools. The meals must be eaten on site, and enrichment activities will be available for the children. For more information, visit the FCPS Food and Nutrition Services webpage.

Friday, April 10, is a school planning day. There will be no school for students.
